I've had three experiences with Groove (2 with Groove/1 with Toyota). Previous experiences were in the 3-4 range, most recent was 1-2. Average it out and we're in the 2 star range. Most recent experien with Toyota). Previous experiences were in the 3-4 range, most recent was 1-2. Average it out and we're in the 2 star range. Most recent experience was with regards to selling my wife's vehicle. Went through KBB - that prompted someone from Groove to get in touch with me about purchasing it. Went in, everything was good, fair price and friendly. The salesman said "We'll give you $XXXXX.XX and be able to take the car off your hands today". Signed some paperwork, they "took the car off our hands" and afterwards they explained they wouldn't cut the check, so to speak, until the title was in hand. I asked if I needed to get the title transferred from the leasing company to my name once it arrived and was told "No, we can take care of that." Fast forward about 25 days. Had to rent a car for a week which cost, well, a lot. Title finally arrives, show up to the dealership, eager to be done with this and they inform me the title does IN FACT have to be transferred. I discussed my displeasure and the fact that I asked this exact question several weeks ago, to which I received the comment "sorry there was a miscommunication". I asked if I could have the car back and they said I could, however, while they had it in their possession, they did several thousand dollars of work to it and I would need to pay for that if I wanted it back. Decided it was best to just go with Groove, got the title transferred to myself at the DMV, brought it to the dealership. Asked if they could reimburse me for my rental car, in all fairness, the used car manager said he would ask and was very understanding of my situation. Answer came back as no, predictably. They cut the check for the agreed upon amount, asked me to sign the title. I said I would deposit the check first then sign the title, at which point the manager said "wait to deposit that check until tomorrow". Red flags going off everywhere. To his credit he got it squared it away and the check cleared that day. Disclaimer: I'm certainly at fault for how some of this transpired. I should have asked more questions when things got murky. If your'e looking for a good Subaru experience - I bought a WRX from Heuberger in C Springs, that went off painlessly. 4 Runner from Stephenson - Also went well. More
