Contacted the internet department to get a price on a new Honda Odyssey. Was given a pretty nice price and decided to drive over to purchase the car at the promised price. I had informed them I would be driv Honda Odyssey. Was given a pretty nice price and decided to drive over to purchase the car at the promised price. I had informed them I would be driving 1h30m to the dealer since the price was good and I had had a good experience 3 years ago with this dealership. When I got in the tricks started pouring in. The price I was given was including my trade in (although weirdly enough they had to take a look at my car after I got there to give me the trade-in price... what gives? If you gave me the price for the new car including the trade in why even bother telling me the trade in price after seeing the old car). All was very badly explained. When I asked them to give them a price on the new car *without* the trade-in they were completely incapable of doing so. I asked 3 times only to get another explanation on why they were offering so little on my old car. After all this "dance", the salesperson called his manager (recognize the trick anyone?). He went again through the explanation of the scenario I had asked them to drop (please give me a number without the trade-in!!!). I was trying to be patient until the "manager" tried to apply the trick "You better buy it here, we have the only car of the model you want around here, other dealers will not have it and Honda is not sending any new cars you want till the end of the year" (my wife got it right on the money after we left... maybe they should close doors if they are not getting any more new cars till the end of the year right?!!?). Anyway, this popped my lid and I just said "*That* is a lie, I am done dealing with you". The "manager" quite rudely and in a loud voice turned to the other salesman and outraged stated "Now I'm a liar!". He sarcastically and with a smirk wished me "Good luck in finding your new car!". At that point I just stormed out, contacted other dealers *closer to me* and got the car I wanted at a really good price (BTW: other dealers I contacted also had the model I wanted...still surprised by that???). That other dealership (Boch Honda West in Westford MA) was great, everybody was top notch and they had the exact model I was looking for, more than one actually (anyone surprised by that?). Metro Honda in johnston was a total waste of my time. They were rude, dishonest and tried to apply all the tricks in the book. My advice: find another dealer to do business with. More
First, no one in the dealership could help us with a purchase. Floormats were promised, but they ended up being cheap no-name brand. On the first day we wouldn't accept their lowest offer and the purchase. Floormats were promised, but they ended up being cheap no-name brand. On the first day we wouldn't accept their lowest offer and the salesman Frank proceeded to make it public that "He's not going to take the deal!" It was very embarrassing and if it weren't for the lower price they offered, we would have left. The price ended up being $200 lower than the nearest competitor, but it ended up that we had to pay for an additional mandatory "protection package" for $200 - what a rip-off. The car was promised to be registered on a Tuesday and I had arranged my schedule to pick up the car then (I live in another state). It turned out that my salesman was off that day and had not informed any of his co-workers, so when we called for an update, no one seemed to know what was going on. I called about 20 times, and the call was bounced back from the receptionist to a condescending, incompetent salesman who couldn't offer any advice other than "I'll put you in touch with Frank" or "I can give you Frank's number". Seeing as how this was insulting my intelligence, I hung up. It turned out allegedly, that the registry person, having been incorrectly supplied with the wrong insurance information, could not register the car and was subsequently thrown out of the RMV for arguing with the teller. EVERYONE in the office either 1) had no clue what was going on or 2) was intentionally trying to hide this information from me. When we were finally able to pick up the car later that week Frank offered the keys to us and said he'd "be right back". Fifteen minutes later he is nowhere to be found, so we left without a handshake or acknowledgement that we purchased a car from them. NEVER going here again and if you are foolhardy enough to go - make sure they do not sneak in additional fees. More
I am writing because I have never had a worse experience with any other business. I ended up at Metro to find a deal on the car that the had advertised on Auto trader. It turns out that they did not have with any other business. I ended up at Metro to find a deal on the car that the had advertised on Auto trader. It turns out that they did not have the black 2009 Honda Pilot that I was looking for. It sold that morning even though I confirmed with the internet dept that it was still there. I drove 1hr from work and 1.5hrs home for a switch and bait scam. The salespeople and floor manager are very high pressure. They had me test drive another Pilot that I later found was listed for $4500 dollars more than advertised. They would make a deal and make it worthwhile. It just came in and had no price on it. Fishy? I sat through the scribble on the paper and negotiate process on a 2011. I figured that I could get a good deal on the last day of the quarter. I would have gotten a lot more for my trade in and $1500 off the price of a new car. I made it to the end of negotiations and realized how fast I got sucked in...a total blur. My wife wasn't happy and advised me to back out. Two days later I received a call from Rob McLauglin, the floor manager that they had just gotten the car that I wanted off lease and I negotiated over the phone with him for my price. The deposit was refundable even if I didn't like it. He stated that it would be ready in three days and certified. The car was great and I was very happy with the purchase until I got home. There was nothing on the paper work to state that this car was certified and I questioned it. Rob stated that there was nothing he could give me in writing. I questioned this and the tire depth. He stated that he would look into it. Three weeks later after a cal to Honda INT, I found out that my car was certified and they mailed me a packet I never received a returned phone call after leaving multiple messages. I called my salesman's cell phone, the floor manager, left messages for the general manager and the owner. Next big surprise!!! 3 weeks later. I went down to CT registration to find out that my car wasn't registered and I couldn't register it myself. I didn't have the title yet and according to metro because it was a lease, they didn't either. My temporary plate was to expire in four days!!! Since that time and up to this week my car wasn't registered. I made over 75 calls and only spoke to someone in five instances with no calls back. They apparently find no value in a telephone call or communicating with their customers. When I finally threatened legal action and put a hold on my deposit with my credit card, they finally picked up.I amazingly spoke with the general managers and one of the owners..Rob Greico, himself. These was 60 calls later. The last 15-20 were to get a hold of anyone to finalize having the tires checked out and to have my wife and 3 small children to come down and get it registered. They gave me a dealer plate to hold me over. They started the process on 5/17/11 and it is finally done . A runner was sent out with my plates as my wife demanded. They stated 'Oh yeah, they are here and you can pick them up. This was after promising to send the runner down. This was the third manager/owner that we had spoke to in the last 2 weeks. My wife and I only received a total of three calls back on the last 75+ calls and messages that were left. We never received a call of apology. we are never going back or recommending that anyone go there. They do care about a single thing after the sale. These people are impossible to deal with and have many sub-human qualities that I wish that I had never discovered. Six weeks of pure hell after the purchase of my car on 4/6/11. This was the last thing that I needed after having my third child on 3/10/11. More
I was looking to buy my first new car and still deciding between a Honda Fit and a Scion xD. I had done my research many days before actually going to a dealership, but was still on the fence with which car between a Honda Fit and a Scion xD. I had done my research many days before actually going to a dealership, but was still on the fence with which car to go with. This was the first dealership I went to for more questions and a test-drive. The sales rep assumed I was there for a joyride because I am quite young, even though I showed up ready to put $5000 down on the car if I was impressed. Rather than help me, he only humored me. He was unable to answer many of my questions, but my favorite response of his was after I asked why the Fit was better in any way than the xD. "Whatever, pick one," were his very words. I had gone with my mother for support and he wasn't helpful or respectful toward either of us and sighed like we were taking up his time. In the end, I did go with the Fit, but I went to a different dealership. More

I had gone to Metro Honda, looking for a used car or a new honda. I had seen some honda commericals. I had a Nissan Sentra I was leasing and wanted to get out of it. The salesperson Rob, was very nice. Wh new honda. I had seen some honda commericals. I had a Nissan Sentra I was leasing and wanted to get out of it. The salesperson Rob, was very nice. When it came time to make a deal, they barely wanted to give me what I owed on my car, they wouldn't really do much on pricing. It was all about how much can you put down and what kind of payment you want. I was less than happy with the experience. When I finally got all the paperwork through, the business office, told me oh, they throw in the extended warranty. That wasn't the case they charged me 2k to make up the difference they lost on the vechicle. I have been repeatly called to bring my car in for service there even after telling them not interested. After 6 mos or so I received some information from them in the mail. I made an appt to get more information. The salesperson was rude, and was very uninterested in helping us. The paperwork i had showed me I could upgrade to a newer used car. The first words from his mouth were how much you putting down. Never asked what i was interested in or anything. then I noticed he had my registration and insurance information. He went into my compartment and got it without asking. Then he tried to rush us out the back door because he had another customer. After calling the manager to complain, I received a call back 6 hours after leaving. He was basically telling me you wanted a new car or nothing. I corrected him and said no I wanted to upgrade but no ever asked what I wanted. I also told him you lost a customer and your business office never called back with information on the warranty after 5 messages. I will never buy anything from this dealership nor do service there. They more than wasted my time. Awful! More
Service department should be called in service. Especially when it is a new car under warranty. Never bring your car here for service. They go out of their way to try to charge for warranty work. Especially when it is a new car under warranty. Never bring your car here for service. They go out of their way to try to charge for warranty work. On a car with 10,000 miles on it. This should not be an issue. Three hours layer. It only gets worse. I will never buy or service a car at Metro Honda again. More
My search for a used Honda started online. There were 2 prices on Metro's website for the same car. One was significantly lower than the other. I drove over 50 miles to see the car and the salesman didn' prices on Metro's website for the same car. One was significantly lower than the other. I drove over 50 miles to see the car and the salesman didn't believe me about the 2 prices until I showed him a printout. Once I drove the car I told him I would consider the car but would not be ready with a bank check until Monday(it was Saturday). I told him that if it sold, it sold and I would be out of luck. He told me that a personal check for the entire amount would be fine. Not true according to someone I spoke to on the phone. The next day, Sunday, I called and asked for the bottom line price so I could bring a check on Monday. He told me to come back in to discuss the price. I reminded him that I live over 50 miles away. I told him I only needed to know all fees above the price of the car. He said he wouldn't discuss the fees over the phone. He then said (and I paraphrase here): "Someone is test driving the car now. Wait, it's sold." I had my daughter call later in the day to find out if it was really sold. The answer: NO. Did I buy from Metro: NO. I should have paid attention to Deal Rater. More
0 STAR for everything. I would have given them 0 star if I could. Do not buy from Metro Honda, RI. They would not honor their offer on the phone and wasted my 2 hrs time driving there from CT. First thing I I could. Do not buy from Metro Honda, RI. They would not honor their offer on the phone and wasted my 2 hrs time driving there from CT. First thing I went in, they tried to sell me this financing scheme and tell me I can put more than 3K down because the bank requires so!? I went along with it (should have left then, what a mistake!). Then came salesman Rob telling me they didn't have the color in stock while they specially tell me over the phone 2 hrs before my arrival that they have it in stock. I was enraged at this point. Oh yeah, he didn't even let me test drive because I told him I went to another dealership already! He went inside to the office and now came sales manager Paul Bender claimed that no one have ever offered me anything and give me this "today is the last day" sales pitch. After arguing back and forth, I left vowing to report them. They will never get business from me or from anyone I know. They didn't even offer an apology for wasting my time. Pathetic group of people. Do not buy from them. They are dishonest and shaddy. Don't believe a word they say. I am reporting them to BBB and Honda Headquarters. Can't believe they are still in business. 0 STAR! More
