My experience at Grieco Honda of Johnston, RI, was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. My fiancée and I initially visited the dealership to purchase a used 2024 CR-V. We were told by the sales extremely disappointing and unprofessional. My fiancée and I initially visited the dealership to purchase a used 2024 CR-V. We were told by the salesperson that a credit check would only be a soft pull and wouldn’t impact my fiancée’s credit score. She repeated her concerns about this multiple times, and each time, the salesperson assured us it was a soft pull. However, we later found out that a hard pull was performed on her credit without her consent, which felt like a significant violation of trust. The next day, we returned, in good faith, to consider purchasing a new 2025 CR-V after sharing a competing offer we had received from another dealership. The salesman assured us that he could beat the offer, but when we arrived, he kept us waiting for over an hour, only to assign us to another salesman without warning. The salesman presented our offer to the manager, who then approached us in an unprofessional, aggressive, and dismissive manner. He seemed uninterested in understanding the context of our discussions and became confrontational when we inquired about the credit pull issue. The manager even denied the existence of soft credit pulls entirely, which is simply untrue. As someone who works in finance, I found his attitude both unprofessional and disrespectful. He proceeded to mock my profession loudly in front of the entire dealership floor, which was both humiliating and unnecessary. The entire experience left us feeling disrespected and undervalued as customers. In the end, the dealership tried to present an offer that was intentionally misleading. They combined the standard Honda rebates (which are available at all dealerships) with their so-called “discount,” making it appear as though they were offering a better deal than they actually were. I strongly advise others to be cautious if considering doing business here. Ensure that you double-check any claims or offers, and be aware of potential credit checks. Our experience has left us seeking out other dealerships who value honesty and customer service over deceptive tactics. More
