After spending long days searching on several occasions with friends and family members I have made the choice that when I am ready to purchase a car wether it be used or new, Universal Kia of Rivergate will be the place I choose. On one occasion I visited with my Aunt who was looking to trade her BMW we spoke with Arthur Williamson the salesman and a gentleman named Chris Saloom. Both Arthur and Chris greeted us as if we were members of their own families. They extended great customer care towards us. My aunt was actually set on trading the BMW for a Hyundai. We decided to stop in to KIA just to look around. I am happy to say that my Aunt is the proud new owner of a 2014 Kia Optima SE. After leaving there in her Kia she was sure that she had recieved the very best attention and deal for her trade in. Since then she couldnt be more happy with the car itself. The Kia Optima is an AMAZING car. It drives like its on rails. Because of the wonderful service we recieved that day when it came time to purchase a new car for my boyfriend (who was dead set on a Nissan Altima) I searched online for KIa's used car inventory and asked my boyfriend if he would be willing to go test drive a KIA he was not very optimistic, but he did anyway.. The same day he test drove the Kia Optima he drove home in one. He was so impressed with the quality of the vehicle and the outstanding service he recieved he said he didnt need to look any further and he wanted the Kia. Arthur and Chris were also our team members on this occasion. Now when we go in to KIA for service work they know us by name and I would recommend this dealership and Chris and Arthur to anyone. When the time comes to trade my car in I will only make one stop. More
Dishonest, Rude, would not honor the price THEY quoted I had been talking to T.C a sales consultant their for a couple of days. I had told him that he would have to give me a reason to drive all the way ov I had been talking to T.C a sales consultant their for a couple of days. I had told him that he would have to give me a reason to drive all the way over to his dealership to even look at the vehicle because it would be a long drive, he talked to his manager and called me back with an out the door price of $7,500. The list price for the vehicle on the website was $7,991. We made the long drive to go check out the car, and T.C. was not there today. We talked with a new consultant that had to bring his manager over to speak with us, because the car we were looking at had more damage to it than was disclosed we felt the out the door price should have been lowered even more. The manager came over and said that they would honor the List Price of $7,991 and that they actually had $8,400 in the car. I at this point told the manager that we had already been quoted the out the door price of $7,500 and he acted like I was lying to him and just shook his head. I then told him that I had the entire conversation where the out the door price was quoted to me recorded and his mouth dropped and he said "Really", so I played the recording to him and it was 100% clear that the sales consultant quoted the out the door price and I even had the sales consultant say which vehicle this quote price was for. After the recording was over, the manager stood up and did not say a word and just walked away for a few minutes and came back and said that we were misinformed and that they would not sell the vehicle at that price. My wife and I stood up and told them to have a nice day and drove away. I have never seen the level of incompetence, rudeness, and complete disregard for a potential customer as I witnessed today. I would strongly recommend avoiding this dealership. More

One Mistake After Another = A Total Waste of Time I was excited about the Kia Soul in Alien Green, and we arrived at Rivergate Kia to look at one on the lot. Our salesman popped the hatchback and lo and behold - a leafy vine was growing out of the bumper. My husband pulled it and kept pulling - it was three feet long. Next - he opened the side back door to see a small DEAD BIRD under the driver's seat. While he was doing that, I had circled around and climbed into the driver's seat. Since I hadn't seen the bird, I didn't realize the source of small white spots sprinkled on the steering column. Our salesman said not to worry, the car would be fully detailed before we drove it home. I drove it a bit, then turned it over to my husband., who noticed that we were running VERY low on gas. Again, our salesman told us not to worry; if we did run out, KIA has "a great roadside assistance program." We were able to make it back to the dealership, and since my husband hadn't told me about the bird carcass rotting under the seat, I was still interested in buying this car. The next step was arranging for financing. We supplied our information and were shown credit scores that were absurdly low. When I explained that I had just obtained a VA mortgage last year, I was told by the finance manager that "VA mortgages are easy to get." Easy to get??? Anyone who's applied for a mortgage since 2008 knows that NO mortgage is easy to get. And to insinuate that the time I spent in the Army earning the right to obtain a VA mortgage was easy is an appalling, inexcusable insult. That was the end of our miserable experience at Rivergate Kia. These people don't deserve your business. Don't waste your time. More
I bought a 2011 Kia Rio in May 2013. It was supposed to have been checked and tested before I took it off the lot. I have had a few issues with the car since I took it off the lot. Because I was over 61,0 have been checked and tested before I took it off the lot. I have had a few issues with the car since I took it off the lot. Because I was over 61,000 miles the last time I took the car in to the dealership, I was told I no longer had a warranty. On top of the fact that they close the service area at 5:30 at night. I am not happy with this company. When I came to look at new cars in May, I was not shown a great deal variety because I had set a limit I wanted to spend. So, in turn, I was shown cars that were at least 1-2 years old, with the exception of a 2013 KIA soul which they wanted me to pay over $500 a month. Are you kidding me?! I was shown a car that was so dirty that I refused to sit in it let alone drive in it. It was nasty. Then, after I bought my car, I kept getting promotional emails from the sales person that worked with me. When I asked him about one of the promotions, he promptly told me I didn't qualify. After that I asked to be remove from his email list. I feel like this dealership did not make a great deal of effort. I don't have great credit,granted, but I should have still been treated like my business was important. I will never buy a car here again, nor will I recommend this xxx company to anybody looking for a new car. More
Very pleased with the way I was treated. I am a single female and have purchased many vehicles and have been condescended to and talked to as if I were stupid. This did not happen at this dealer. No haggling on the price of my trade in and they got me into the monthly payment I requested without trying to up-sell me or go back and forth. The car I ended up with is beautiful and a higher end model and I have received MANY compliments. Will continue to recommend the car, the dealership and the sales person. I have a stack of cards that I will hand out if anyone inquires. It was a pleasure. More

If I could give them a negative 100, I would. I wish I had read all the complaints about them before going but I had credit issues and believed their ads that they could help. I ended up listening to the credit manager when he said that even though the interest rate and payments were very high, I could refinance in a year. What he failed to tell me was that you'd be so upside down, no bank or credit union would touch the car. Almost two years in and I'm still so unbelievably upside down and can't afford the payments but can't do anything about it. Once you sign the contract, you don't exist as far as they're concerned. I tried to go back a couple of months ago to see if they could do anything to help and the salesman just blew me off. Very rude and unsympathetic. They really could care less. More
