Tsk Tsk Mr. Jim O'Neill! Your private response to my poor review of "your store", Orlando Kia North, will not result in the removal of my review! I'm very sure I have all my facts straight! According to your response as soon as "Your store" sells a used vehicle as/is to any given customer and they drive it off the lot it is no longer "your stores" responsibility any more! It'd be my belief that being such a well known reputable dealership that you would want to make sure the customer was happy and safe! Granted the dealership did try to make good on the 04 Hyundai Sonata replacing it with the 06 Kia Sorento. The problem is that the Hyundai never should of made it out of the dealership without a certified mechanic looking at it thus repairing the airbag light, repairing the washer pump, and noticing the rod knock. Then full well knowing that the replacement vehicle was to be driven 1200 miles to NY as a replacement was also sold as/is was taken to a mechanic outside "your store" and found to possibly have a wheel bearing with play. Knowing this at a reputable dealership it should have been taken care of and not allowed to be driven until it was! Just because a vehicle is purchased by a representative of someone's family out of state is no reason for a reputable car dealership to allow any vehicle out on the road with these types of potentially harmful situations with them!

Mr. Ranieri, I'm certain you don't have all the facts, so let me bring you up to speed. I'm sure you are aware Mr. Steve Donner negotiated with us on behalf of your father. Whom I believe to be your brother in law, and son in law of Mr. Nicholas Ranieri (buyer), who lives in Dundee NY and has never been to my store . The first vehicle your father purchased was a '04 Hyundai Santa Fe which was sold AS / IS. Mr. Steve Donner was told this and all documents were signed by your father explaining our responsibility after the sale went final. Meaning I had absolutely ZERO responsibility to repair or replace the vehicle after the vehicle left my property. The vehicle was driven to NY and then developed a mechanical issue, I refunded every dollar on that deal with those proceeds going to the fund the 2nd deal ~ '06 Sorento. Again, refunding the purchase price was not my responsibility but done purely as a Good Will gesture. Prior to your father purchasing this '06 Sorento, AGAIN, Mr. Donner was told this car was sold AS / IS. Mr. Donner had the ability to bring the unit to HIS mechanic for inspection which he did. I can only assume Mr. Donner was told by his mechanic about this and other defects prior to purchase. Mr. Donner was then told that due to the sale price of this unit and the loss on the Hyundai, we would not repair anything on the Sorento. SOLD AS / IS take it or leave it. At that time, Mr. Donner had the ability to withdrawal from the deal, repair the vehicle at his mechanic or have us repair the Sorento at his expense. MR. DONNER chose to ignore the bearing problem and PUT HIS OWN FAMILY AT RISK. I'm sure Mr. Donner didn't clarify this information or let you know of his part in this debacle. Frankly, had I known this would have become such an issue, I would have stayed with in our (buyer / seller) contractual agreement and never have refunded the money on the first deal. Now, I will loose money at the auction on the Hyundai, I've lost money on the sale of the '06 Sorento and I have to defend myself against a review that claims I have put several lives in danger due to a bad wheel bearing on a 2006 Sorento with 101k miles. Mr. Ranieri, I completely understand your concern as I have an elderly mother and wouldn't want anyone taking advantage of her. With that said and after reading all the facts, I'm sure you would agree we've provided your father with a much better outcome than any AS / IS purchase agreement provides. Unfortunately and apparently, Mr. Donner doesn't have the backbone to clarify this issue or protect his own family. I'm glad I could add the facts to your outrage as it appears you were misled as well. I would appreciate your removal of the review. Please let me know if you are inclined to do so. Sincerely, Jim O'Neill 407-571-1234 X 2226

Mr. Ranieri, We sell many "Certified" Pre-owned vehicles and ALL of these vehicles go through a very extensive check out and repair procedure. In fact, non - Kia vehicles are given a 2 year 100,000 mile limited warranty, while our Kia vehicles are 'wrapped", matching the "new" car warranty of the balance of 10 years / 100,000 miles (based on model year and mileage). Your brother in law was offered these vehicles, but he chose to pick a vehicle that was headed to the auction. These units will not pass certification so they are offered AS / IS prior to going to the auction sale. Many of these vehicle are good but simply will not pass our inspection. The '04 Hyundai did NOT have an engine knock when your brother in law test drove and ultimately PURCHASED the vehicle. I can not answer for the airbag light that you say was on when it arrived in NY. Again, I would assume your brother in law would have noticed this and would have it inspected / repaired prior to taking delivery and driving 1200 miles. For your information, vehicles sold AS / IS are found in every state and the SELLER responsibilities are clearly outlined on a Federally controlled window sticker called "The Buyers Guide". This document is signed prior to deliver and clearly states what is covered and the responsibility of the SELLING party and the responsibility of the BUYER. Since BOTH of the vehicles your brother in law picked out, test drove, sent to HIS mechanic and ultimately purchased for your father had these documents clearly displayed, he was keenly aware of my responsibility and the buyers responsibility. This federal document was designed to hold both parties accountable for their responsibilities in this type of transaction, which you seem to mean only me and my store. You will be happy to learn that I changed my policy for the sale of AS / IS units. We will no longer offer "broker" or "outside buyers" the ability to purchase these units. Only the actual buyer / driver will be required to take delivery of the vehicle at the dealership. These buyers will be required to sign an additional document stating they completely understand their responsibility in owning and operating a vehicle that does not have any warranty or passed our inspection. As with your brother in law's case, the buyer will be given the option to have the vehicle serviced, repaired and included in the purchase price or separately at their expense. In the future, I will not offer to buy back, replace or otherwise offer a even exchange as I did with your father. Clearly this "Good Will" was not appreciated and has opened me up to additional criticism and acceptance of vehicle owners responsibility for the operation and condition of their car. Fortunately I have many valued customers that appreciate my help, take personal responsibility and hold me accountable if I let them down. I will gladly accept responsibility for being imperfect or providing a less than excellent experience. Unfortunately this happens in every business. I will continue to work with them as I have in the past and together we will solve the issue at hand. As a consumer myself, that is all I would want from a company. Sincerely, Jim O'Neill Managing Partner / General Manager 407-571-1234 X 2226
