Horrible 5 months ago we bought two vehicles from dick smith ford in ray town. They totaled a little over 30,000. The day after we left we were called back in 5 months ago we bought two vehicles from dick smith ford in ray town. They totaled a little over 30,000. The day after we left we were called back in the finance guy we worked with did our paperwork incorrectly and charged us the wrong rates, amount etc... to the point he was fired. Within a week of leaving the lot the 2014 town and country I bought made a loud noise while I was driving it. A side piece has flew off the passenger window and hit our middle window. Lucky for us the middle windows were rolled up or it would have flew in and hit my 3 year old son in his face. And being a large piece of metal god only knows what would have happened. Dick smith Ford agreed to replace the piece that blew off. The very next day I'm driving and my front drivers tire blows out on the freaking highway!!! Had to call roadside. The front two tires had zero tread and were virtually bald. Less than a week after buying this vehicle that they "inspected." They reluctantly replaced the two front tires after hours of arguing with them. Fast forward to 5 months later. The van has had less than 2,000 miles since I bought it. The van wont start. It's simple it's the battery. Take the battery in they say its the factory battery and should have been replaced before we got it. We called and asked them to give us a battery or go half. I just paid 20,000 for this xxxx car and had all these problems due to their negligence and so called in house inspections. Talked to the general manager (steve tolbert) he said they aren't doing xxxx. Nice way to do business. I have 5 kids and my nephew who live with me 3 of which will be getting cars in the next 6 months. WE WONT BE RETURNING TO DICK SMITH FORD. Their sales manager is rude and disrespectful and does not give a xxxx after you leave the lot. I will be contacting the owner. More
Fraud, criminals, liars. I inherited my late Father's 2014 Ford Fusion, only has 6000 or so miles. I personally have only owned it for 2 years. I went in to have some recalls I inherited my late Father's 2014 Ford Fusion, only has 6000 or so miles. I personally have only owned it for 2 years. I went in to have some recalls done and they offered a oil/filters/fluids special so I later agreed to go ahead and have that done while I was there. I realized later they only did one recall and didn't realize they caused an oil leak. The oil change/oil filter change was done May 11, 2018 and by July I realized the oil was leaking because I had to charge the battery and it idled long enough in the driveway to cause a massive oil puddle. I had driven downtown and it was a family member that noticed the massive oil puddle left due to me idling the car charging the batter for an hour at a time. When I got home I noticed the oil, wiped some up and immediately checked the oil level. Bone dry, so apparently it had been leaking ever since they did the oil filter change and the puddle became noticeable in the driveway because I had idled the car for so long pumping oil out of the leaking gasket or filter. It had never leaked prior to them doing the oil/filter change. I called them and told them the situation, they said put some oil in it and bring it in tomorrow. The next morning I almost called a tow truck but had bought 5 quarts of synthetic oil and just put in about 3 quarts and checked the level, it was now reading within minimum level. I had moved the car back to reveal the puddle the night before and now there was a smaller new puddle in front of it where the car say overnight indicating the leak again. So I tossed the remaining oil/can and funnel in the back of the car and took off to Dick Smith Ford dealership. I arrived slightly ahead of time 6:50AM or so. I parked the car in the service entrance and shut it off and asked for the manager. They got the service manager and being angry I pretty much read him the riot act, he didn't like being talked to like that but I told him I didn't care, fix the car it's been leaking oil all over the city and I demanded all diagnostics possible to determine possible engine damage and I wanted copies of readings/results/invoice of work done via warranty or otherwise. Then I just went to the waiting area. After 20-30 minutes they called me to the service area, they told me they replaced a leaking gasket and tightened a loose oil filter as well as ran a compression test and it passed. I asked for invoice and documentation of findings. They told me their computers were down, refusing to give me documentation. I asked them about going ahead and doing the seatbelt recall and once again he claimed their computers were down and went to get a founder with past service invoices, mine I guess. He said I should come back later to do the recall and told me he'd call me later after the 'computers were up'. So they refused to give me documentation of the work done to my car and claimed they ran a compression test. The next day I ran the car and noticed it idled rougher. Prior to this incident it idled so smooth you could hardly tell the engine was running. When slow revved to 2500rpm I now noticed engine shake where it had none before. I called the dealership and asked to talk to the manager, since they told me he wasn't there the prior day of my visit. This is where it become even more fraudulent, reaching blatant fraud level. He claimed they got a code indicating there was just low oil, no leak... as if there was no leak and just low oil, AFTER I ADDED OIL to the empty engine after it leaked all over my driveway. Then he bounced me over to Kirk the service manager that ushered me out without documentation due to 'our computers are down' BS. He now told me he never said they did a compression test! when HE HAD at least twice. He mocked me, even chuckled and I said "you think this is a joke" he replied back in contemptuous slander against me, basically calling me a liar. He said he never said they did a compression test, he never told me my car passed the compression test when he had. So in short basically the reason the refused me documentation was to revise the reality of their damage to my car, their ineptitude in successfully changing my oil, oil filters and topping off my fluids. Instead they caused a leak, initially stating they fixed the gasket, tightened the leaking filter and ran a compression test, they refused to give me documentation so they could lie about the entire incident so they wouldn't be liable for the damage they caused to my car. The car still has about half a year left on the 5 year warranty. As far as I'm concerned they have broken the law, committing fraud on multiple levels. I've filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Missouri and will file with BBB and other dealership review websites. I plan on going to another diagnostic service station to do the compression test and get result. To add insult to fraud I went ahead an scheduled a compression test for the following Monday at the Ford Dealership, only to receive a call from 'Kirk' the service goon telling me his dealership manager told me not to bother coming in lol, unbelievable, so they even refused me the right to have diagnostic testing done at all. They claimed they did a compression test, then said no they hadn't, then I schedule one myself and they refuse me the right to have one done. Could anybody think this isn't FRAUD? More
Bad service department. Review is based on service only. Drove my 2017 Ford Fusion Energi here to get it checked out. Had to have the windows down the whole way. I just go Review is based on service only. Drove my 2017 Ford Fusion Energi here to get it checked out. Had to have the windows down the whole way. I just go this thing a couple months ago and only has 24k miles on it. Had it plugged in yesterday and the battery in the trunk started smelling. Googled this and it sounds like it’s hydrogen sulfide, extremely toxic. Moved the car out of the garage and found of puddle of liquid under the trunk. Told all of this to the guy in the service department and they “[couldn’t] look at it until next week”. I can’t imagine how you can have a customer in your shop to do warranty work and you can’t look at something that could cause imminent death. Took it to thoroughbred, they are looking at it now and getting me in a rental. More

My daughter recently purchased a car there and it’s been in the shop more than she’s had it-was purchased in October. Once you drive off the lot, it’s a different st I recently helped my daughter buy her first used car. While at Dick Smith Ford, they were very nice. Once you drive off the lot, it’s a different story. After 3 months, 3 breakdowns and $1600 in repairs, it’s painfully obvious that the car was never checked out. Repeated phone calls for assistance were never returned. The third party warranty we were pressured to purchase was supposed to be bumper to bumper. Come to find out it covers everything that isn’t bumper to bumper which is basically nothing. My daughter’s first encounter with an auto dealership and purchasing a car has been horrible. The lack of integrity by Dick Smith Ford has been a wakeup call. I would highly recommend not going to this dealership of crooks when thinking of buying a new or used car. More
NEVER NEVER AGAIN This was my first car buying experience and I will not be returning. I bought a car at the end of October - a used 2014 Ford Focus SE with less than 5 This was my first car buying experience and I will not be returning. I bought a car at the end of October - a used 2014 Ford Focus SE with less than 50,000 on it. When I bought it they replaced the battery and said I was good to guy and had me buy some after market insurance that they promised would be a good deal. End or January, my car breaks down completely. I need my battery replaced and Dick Smith Ford and the after market insurance won't cover it even though they had JUST placed in a new one in October. Then, got that put in and a few days later my car shuts down AGAIN. This time it's the Body Control Module. Again - my after market insurance and Dick Smith Ford don't cover it. They say the problem is an erosion of a wire but not a wire itself so technically it isn't an electrical issue and they won't cover it. THEN the check engine light comes on 3 weeks later. This time it's an Oxygen Tank or something. They say they'll cover $150 with my after market insurance but nothing else. So far on this brand new $14,000 I have spent more than $1500 and have not had my car for weeks at a time. My automechanic says that there is a leak in the car they can't find causing all this to occur. Obviously they didn't do a maintenance check before they put this car on the floor or sold it. Now, they won't pay for these things. The president of the company wont call us and they keep saying they will. When I try and talk I am put on hold. This is the most unhelpful experience of my life. I am beyond frustrated and at this point just want to get rid of this awful car they tricked me into. More
