GSM - Steve Reed has no ethics I've been trying to purchase a Land Rover - Rover HSE for over 3 months from this dealership. I was told by many Land Rover dealership that you have I've been trying to purchase a Land Rover - Rover HSE for over 3 months from this dealership. I was told by many Land Rover dealership that you have to buy in your state hence, I've been dealing with South Carolina dealers. After 3 months, I was finally able to locate 3 rovers on Greenville's site that I could purchase. I called the dealership and spoke with the salesperson that I'd work with for these 3 months. He was kind enough to inform me that 1 of the rovers were sold and that only 2 were left. I asked him to send me the car specs and he did via email Thursday evening. He copied his sales manager. He also told me that I needed to give a deposit if I wanted vehicle because they get sold quickly. I didn't call him back Thursday morning; but I did call about after 2pm. The salesperson informed me that one of the vehicles was sold so I immediately put a deposit on the last vehicle - Aruba HSE. He put me on hold to go make sure the vehicle was available and proceeded to transfer me to the receptionist who takes the deposit. The receptionist was not at her desk but called me back and took the credit card information. I was satisfied that I reserved the car on Friday. On Saturday I had messages to finish the sale process. I had errands to run so I called and left a message (text too) that I will forward license and insurance information when I return home. In the meantime, I had colleagues that I know in the Greenville area visit the dealership to see the car. I was alarmed to hear from them that the car was offered to them because the salesperson told him "...the deal fell through..." The salesperson told him they were going to sell that car if they could Saturday. The gentleman called and told my husband who told me. I immediately ran home home and emailed the documents. I then received a call that the GSM - Steve Reed sold the car to someone else. Mr. Reed left a long drawn out voicemail telling me that his deposit was received first on Friday and the salesperson I was dealing with didn't tell management he took a deposit. I saved his voicemail message to forward to the Land Rover corporate office. If Mr. Reed is telling the truth, why is it that his dealership continued to sell that same vehicle all day Saturday - trying to sell it to 2 of my husbands colleagues. This dealership does not honor their word (deposit) or business. They took my AMEX information for no reason. Mr. Reed also told me it was an out of state client that he sold the vehicle to - my question is why could he not locate a vehicle for that client? Why would you put one client over another? I left a $3,000.00 deposit. As a college professor that teaches Business Ethics and Fundamentals in Business, I will be using this dealership as an example of unethical business policies. Why take a deposit if you will sell the vehicle anyway? More

The sales manager Don joined the negotiations and he also was very professional. The dealership is clean and well managed. I bought a month ago and all promises have been kept. More
