An Honest Review Ray Elson, my salesperson, was fantastic. He was one of the two or three dealers out of twenty or so that I contacted via email to give the all of the information I wanted when researching vehicles online. He wasn't pushy, very polite, and seemed genuinely interested in finding me a car at a good price. That said, there are some aspects of my experience at Great Lakes Hyundai that weren't perfect. My employer is affiliated with Best Benefits Club, a website that offers its members discounts for several goods and services. For Best Benefits Club members, Great Lakes Hyundai was offering an extra $1,000 below invoice (including rebates and incentives) in addition to a free 21-month maintenance package as long as the customer provided a printed flier from the Best Benefits Club website. I brought the flier in and asked Ray about each item. In regards to the extra $1,000 off, his manager said that because the deal I was being offered was so good, they couldn't take an extra $1,000 off. If they did apply the $1,000 off, it would negate the other discounts and I'd be paying more for the car. Even though the flier specifically stated the extra $1,000 was to go along with existing rebates and incentives. To be honest, I was half expecting a nonsense answer in this vein, and my research indicated that the price I was being offered for the car was indeed fantastic, so it wasn't necessarily a sword I was willing to fall on, and I moved on. Then I asked Ray about the free 21-month maintenance package. His response was that because it didn't have anything to do with the price of the car, he imagined his management team would honor it as long as I brought the flier to the dealership when I signed the papers for the car. Which is exactly what I did, and on the day I signed the paperwork I presented the flier to the finance manager. Now, on the flier the language reads the following: "Call Arnett Gregory Jr. at (XXX)-XXX-XXXX to schedule an appointment, and bring this letter in and receive a FREE 21-month maintenance package. It's that simple!" The finance manager took the flier to another manager (possibly the GM, I'm not sure) to approve the free maintenance package, and he returned a few minutes later. He regretted to inform me that because Arnett Gregory, Jr. is no longer employed at Great Lakes Hyundai, the dealership would not honor the flier. What should have been potentially another $1,000 off the price of a new car and a free 21-month maintenance package amounted to nothing because I was already getting a good deal and because one person doesn't work there anymore. Nowhere on the flier does it describe circumstances where the extra discount and maintenance package would not be honored. To be perfectly clear - the flier is useless. I have no idea why someone went to the trouble to make it. Overall, my experience at Great Lakes Hyundai was good, and I'd recommend Ray to anyone. But it's stuff like what I mentioned above that continues to make buying a car a pain in the butt and an experience that I'm very glad I only have to endure once every several years. More

Very happy with 2017 Elantra We settled on an Elantra SE+Value pack (I believe that was the name of it) and we got more than expected for a price we were happy with. We have just returned from a 2100 mile road trip in the new car and I am very pleased with the handling, features, engine power and fuel economy. I had the 2013 Elantra Limited with Tech package before and the 2017 is significantly improved over that model. More

In February of 2017 my wife decided she wanted a new suv so I did not hesitate to call Scott and see if we could work something out. Scott again came thru and we now are proud owners of a 2017 Tuscon. We purchased Tucson instead of leasing. Besides loving the two Hyundai's we bought, Scott's dedication to service and value will be the reason we come back to Great Lakes Hyundai . Thanks More

When I needed a new Hyundai this year we returned to Great Lakes. I'm highly satisfied with the prompt attention and professional service in getting exactly the car I wanted at a great price. TJ was awesome about finding me a great deal and working with me from a distance. Cody stepped in when I needed to come finish up the final details at an unexpected time and Paul, as always, was a delight to deal with on the final financing. More
