I had a great experience with this dealership. On my first visit I just wanted to scope out the Insight, and Cam was great with setting up a test drive and not pushing at all for a purchase. When I came first visit I just wanted to scope out the Insight, and Cam was great with setting up a test drive and not pushing at all for a purchase. When I came back to buy (much sooner than I’d anticipated, after exploring and ruling out some other options), Cam was again extremely friendly, no-nonsense, and efficient. I was really dreading this process and it genuinely couldn’t have been more pleasant. The GM (I think) even helped out with running my credit card when the finance department got a bit backed up. This was my first new car purchase experience, I was super nervous going into it, and I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out. (P.S. The Insight is a great car that deserves more attention!) While most aspects of the experience were pleasant and I felt good about them there is one thing that I am upset about and feel like they were deceptive about in particular. They claimed that there was an installed item that they could not remove which were the mud guards / debris protectors which was an added charge of $195. I was annoyed with them and indicated I didn't want them and was basically told that they couldn't do anything about it. After getting home and driving my vehicle for a couple weeks I have gone online to get a few accessories to truely personalize the vehicle and make it mine. The same mudflaps they installed I have found online at Honda dealership sites for $65-$80, aftermarket versions for $40-$60, and WeatherTech versions which are larger and heavier duty are available for $79.90. So basically I feel like I was lied to and overcharged for this item which I didn't want and that isn't even one of the better versions of the product and even when I told them I didn't want it they decided to be deceptive telling me they couldn't remove it. I understand some of this is the "car game" but when a customer tells you they don't want an accessory and you insist there is nothing you can do and lie about it then it hurts your credibility. More
