Now called Great Lakes Honda. After 1st visit we called to make an offer on a Used Honda Civic. They accepted offer, agreed on trade in value and we set appointment to pick up the car the next day. When to make an offer on a Used Honda Civic. They accepted offer, agreed on trade in value and we set appointment to pick up the car the next day. When we arrived, they said the person we spoke with wasn't there and that her notes were confusing. After some delay, we were finally told that they had sold the car to someone else the previous evening. They did not call to tell us this before our appointment, and also did not offer to take a deposit on the car in order to hold it for a day. Note: 2 star on friendliness- the sales person who tried to help us was friendly- but not impressed with the GM I spoke with. More
There your typical old school used car dealer low value on your trade in and over priced on all there stock. You can do all your research and walk in with a reasonable offer and they start there game the o on your trade in and over priced on all there stock. You can do all your research and walk in with a reasonable offer and they start there game the one where they get there numbers from insider trader websites and then have a 30 minute powwow after ever counter offer you make. I was putting down 5 grand and they would only take $400 off there price and that was after several offers. They do try to every lie they can from the guy I talked to on the phone who said is job is just to get me in to the sales guy saying they have people from out of state rushing in to buy there vehicles to the sales manager who kept using the money I’m putting down as a lose to them. Just a horrible time there. Went over everything before leaving home filled out all the online credit stuff checked with that everything was good to go because I was traveling an hour to get there and showed up to them saying all my info was scattered in the wind. I didn’t listen to the bad reviews and I don’t think many people will listen to this warning just please leave your bad review after it happens to you good luck! More

My daughter just bought her first new car, upgrading from the Honda Fit I bought her 9 years and 172K miles ago, to a 2018 Honda Civic. I did all my pricing work online to find the best deal and had intended on buying at a dealership closer to where I live. We went to Jack Matia just to test drive the car since it is close to my daughter's work. There we met Pat, who was as nice as could be. We drove 2 different vehicles and left to try a couple Subarus out. No pressure, got a quick quote on the trade, and went on our way. The next day she made the decision to buy the Civic and Pat arranged for the specific car and color to be brought to their dealership and a time for her to come in and go through the painful buying paperwork. However, it wasn't bad at all! The finance guy tried to upsell her on the extend warranty, and a few other ups, adds, and extras, but my daughter politely told him no (as we had role played) and she got in and out with the deal we expected, financed at the rate we had hoped for. Total time: less than an hour, during which time I had several beverages from their tasty coffee machine, but couldn't find the 'fresh fruit' they had promoted. No biggie on the fruit. I was just happy my daughter got what she wanted and didn't get harassed in the process. More

Pat our salesperson was nice until it was time to make the deal. Our Pilot had a trade in value of $22400, but she said they could only offer us $18000. I said absolutely not as it would have put us underwater in the deal. That was strike one. We moved on to price and Pat said they were willing to come down on the new Odyssey to $38500, but when I pointed out True Car said that average retail price less they were not happy with me. I sent Pat away to attempt to make a better deal. Pat never returned, but the Sales Manager came instead (never got her name). She attempted to tell me that my trade in needed a lot of reconditioning before they could sell it and that why she could only offer me $18000. There was nothing wrong with the Pilot except for needing a cleaning. Car runs great and has never needed a service repair even though I bought a 7 year, 100000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. She then attempted to show me ads from Auto Trader that backed up her claim that my car was not worth what I thought it was worth. Suffice it to say we did not make a deal and I left angry that they were being so obstinate and unwilling to close the deal with me. On a whim, I pulled up Auto Trader on my phone when I left the dealership and found out the Sales Manager outright lied about the car prices out there that matched my Pilot. I could not find the Pilots she showed me and all of them that I could find had significantly more mileage on them. I only have 33400 miles on a 2013 vehicle and the average car on the site had over 60000 miles on them and wanted at least $25000 in price. Later that day I contacted American Honda and reported the dealership for their unethical actions and behaviors during the car selling process. More
Surprisingly Great Used Car Experience! I had a surprisingly very good visit with this dealer when purchasing a preowned Hyundai Genesis at their Used Car Lot. Many dealers have a bad reputa I had a surprisingly very good visit with this dealer when purchasing a preowned Hyundai Genesis at their Used Car Lot. Many dealers have a bad reputation due to aggressive sales tactics or terrible financing deals, however I’m happy to report that this was absolutely not the case with this dealership. My advice to anyone looking at purchasing vehicles at any dealership, go to Jack Matia if you’re in the area or don’t mind driving a few hours like I did. Family-owned businesses seem to offer better service as opposed to larger-scale chains from my experience. For reference, I dealt with Ron Messinger (sales consultant) and Ryan Ruiz (business manager) directly. They were both wonderful and seem to be genuinely good people, which is certainly becoming harder to find in this day and age. Don’t hesitate to reach out to these two when you’re in the market for a vehicle! More
