Initially I was happy with the car I purchased on March 5th at Grapevine Ford; however, over the two weeks following my purchase I got ever more irritated about it. I am now completely dissatisfied with Gr 5th at Grapevine Ford; however, over the two weeks following my purchase I got ever more irritated about it. I am now completely dissatisfied with Grapevine Ford and, in some degree, with the car I purchased. First, the car did not come with floor mats, a secondary key fob or an Owner’s Manual. At the time I purchased the car, the sales person said she would get me a secondary key fob and that I would have to go out there and pick it up the next week. I never heard from her again. A week or two after my purchase, I contacted the sales person again and asked if she could send me an Owner’s Manual. I have been trying to program the buttons in the driver visor to work my garage door, but none of the manuals I found at Ford online or the manual I have for the garage door/opener itself works to program this car. The sales person said she would try and send me an Owner’s Manual, but again I never heard anything. I ended up buying floor mats for the car and also purchased an Owner’s Manual online which cost me an additional $150.00. I also tried sending an email to about half a dozen executives at Grapevine Ford about the issues I continue to have and nobody had ever contacted me in response. It is not April 5th and the paper plate they put on the car when I purchased it expired yesterday – I am now not even going to bother driving it as I don’t need a ticket. I called Grapevine Ford and they said it takes up to 6 weeks for them to get the actual plates and then they will mail them to me. If that is the case and they are obviously aware of that, why put a paper plate on it that will expire at least two weeks before any actual license plates can be received? I have been so upset with this whole transaction I even looked into selling the car and starting over; however, from what I found online I can only get $23,000 for the car. I finally took the paperwork out of the envelope that they had me sign when I purchased the car (after having been there for 3-4 hours) and looked at the loan paperwork specifically. I was and still am LIVID over this. Apparently after paying the monthly payments on this car for 6 years and including the money I put down on the car, when it’s all said and done, I will have paid $45,000 for a USED CAR!! I walked away from a 2021 Lexus because it was $47,000 and I felt it was too much for me to spend on a vehicle and then it turns out I’m paying just $2,000 less for a 2020 Ford!! I have always been warned about car sales people; however, I learned the hard way that the warnings are very necessary!! I am so unhappy with the whole experience – I don’t think I will EVER buy another vehicle from a dealership! If you are looking to buy a new or used vehicle, DO NOT go to Grapevine Ford!! More
I have never had a worse experience at a dealership. My wife and I first came to the dealership on Monday, March 15th to look at stock number LEA55499. We had an appointment set up with James Wacker but wh wife and I first came to the dealership on Monday, March 15th to look at stock number LEA55499. We had an appointment set up with James Wacker but when we arrived James was gone so we met with Jake Heddins instead. We looked at the Expedition and were a little concerned at the appearance of the vehicle considering an entire panel of the rear passenger door was missing and the storage compartment in the back didn't close all the way. Jake assured us that everything would be fixed and the vehicle would be perfect upon delivery, that made us feel better. When we sat down to talk numbers Jake came back and told us that the vehicle was under a recall and could not be sold due to the back up camera issue. I don't know how this wasn't known when we inquired in the first place, but that is fine. We met with Andrew Boaz, a manager, who apologized and offered to put gas in my trade. This is where everything went down hill. Andrew told my wife and I that he was off on Tuesday but would make it his "personal responsibility to call us on Wednesday with the status of the Expedition." He also mentioned he could trade with another dealership. Wednesday came and we never heard from Andrew. I called and spoke with the front desk people who said they delivered a sticky note but still no response. I called Jake and no response either. I sent a follow up email Thursday morning to Jake, James, and a manager Blane who emailed me the Monday we came in to confirm my appt. James emailed back saying he would look into the situation but we never heard back. A few days went by finally I got ahold of James who told us Jake had written down the wrong info and the dealership had my number wrong. I finally spoke to Jake on March 19th who said the vehicle was on a recall and he would keep us updated on status. In the meantime he asked if we would consider any other vehicles. I told him what we were looking for and he asked me to email him so he wouldn't forget it. Jake also said he would get to work finding us a vehicle. I emailed him and have never heard back from Jake since. I called the dealership last week on Thursday and spoke with a salesmen who told us the Expedition we looked at that was under recall had been sold. I was very frustrated and wanted to know why a vehicle we were told couldn't be sold was sold, especially since we never heard from Jake or any other salesmen about the Expedition. I asked to speak to a manager, the salesmen I spoke with told me he would deliver my message. I have yet to hear from a manager. The salesmen I spoke with told me he had a plan and had another Expedition in mind but it is a courtesy vehicle and was not eligible to be sold yet. He also mentioned that I would have first dibs when the Expedition was available. He told me he would send me the sticker and pictures, which didn't happen. Finally, I called this week and spoke to another salesmen James to inquire about a 2020 black Expedition which was on the web page. James told me it sold on Sat, however we inquired about it last Thursday when we called and were told it couldn't be sold yet. When I talked to James I found out the dealership is able to sell and do paperwork on a recalled vehicle it just can not be delivered until the recall is fixed. If this is the case we would have done the paperwork the night we came in but this was not mentioned to us by a manager or Jake. As a result we missed out on the opportunity to purchase not 1 but 2 Expeditions and have yet to hear from a manager. All of this is due to poor communication. I reached out to the GM to express my frustration and he has not responded to me either. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. Take your business someplace else. More
