The service department is what sold me on this location and did by a truck back in 2020. Today I was ready to upgrade my truck and they confirmed again that if you are a woman, you might want to look for another dealership. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt for the experience in 2020... I did the phone calls, emails and search for our new truck however upon getting there with my husband everyone just kept going to him even when he said several times "she set this up and you need to speak to her". Even at the financing point they took his before mine, I have better credit! Just felt like as a woman, it was the 1950's and I needed my husband to do the talking. Today, I went in for the test drive while my truck was having some work done. We had it all set up that I was going to take a F250 for a test drive for a few hours while mine was having the service. When I get there not only was my salesman not there at our agreed upon time but then they said I could not take it for a test drive. I was told "we just can't let you drive away in a $100k truck like that". Last purchase I took it out overnight. Then after purchase I was given another truck for three days while the truck had some customizations. You can't trust me to take a test drive when you have my own fully paid for still good truck hostage? Felt like if I was a man it would not have been an issue. Just done with Grapevine Ford at this point. Women in 2022 can make decisions by themselves and be responsible. Too bad it is still 1950's treatment for women at this location. More
BEWARE THE 2nd KEY CON Purchased a used car from Grapevine Ford and all went well until after the purchase price was agreed to. When the paperwork arrived I was surprised to see $1k+ in additional Grapevine Ford and all went well until after the purchase price was agreed to. When the paperwork arrived I was surprised to see $1k+ in additional fees for LoJack and a replacement 2nd key. LoJack is what it is so I could only negotiate the cost down as it was already installed, a fact not divulged during the original negotiations. I questioned the lack of the 2nd key and was told they only received one when the car was traded in, so I agreed to pay for a new one to be made. After getting the car home I located an old service receipt including the original owner’s info. Upon contacting that person about potentially obtaining the missing 2nd key, they confirmed to whom both keys were given in great detail. Dealership maintains they received only one key. I ask you, does the former owner have anything to gain by lying about the key? At the very least dealer personnel lost the 2nd key and I’m left paying for their mistake. More likely this is a con job to sell highly profitable extras to increase the overall profit margin on used vehicle sales. I won’t be going back to Grapevine Ford-Mercury for anything in the future. Both were willing to negotiate and work with me to get to a payment I can manage. Both were professional and great to work with in what can usually be a miserable experience. Love my new Bronco. I see fun adventures ahead! More
