Deceitful I’ll start by saying they are only getting a one star review because 0 is not an option. I caught the salesman in 2 lies pertaining to my transaction I’ll start by saying they are only getting a one star review because 0 is not an option. I caught the salesman in 2 lies pertaining to my transaction and my credit card info was stored when I specifically requested for it not to be. And when I tried to get it corrected by Manish Rajpurohit the manager he hung up on me twice, but only after refusing to see to it that my information was properly disposed of! The car salesman I dealt with was Torris Miller. After we reached an agreement about the vehicle I wanted to purchase over the phone, I offered to put $500 down towards the purchase so that they would hold the vehicle for me for three days since I was on night shift and wouldn’t be able to pick it up until then. Mr. Miller then requested that I send a picture of my credit card and my driver’s Lisc. to his personal cell phone. (I refused to send a picture of my card but did send a picture of my lisc., but only because it wasn’t until I spoke to the manager later that I learned that he requested these items to be sent to his personal cell phone and not a company cell phone as I believed.) I made it clear to Mr. Miller that I didn’t want my card information recorded and that I would just give it to him when he was ready to run it. He again tried to get me to give it to him saying he would just write it down and I again refused and reiterated I didn’t intend to give it until it needed to be charged and that I didn’t want it recorded. So Mr. Miller called back and stated he was ready to scan my card and informed me that the $500 that I offered to pay them in good faith to hold the card for me would be non-refundable! I told him if that was the case we didn’t have a deal because I would already be loosing 6hrs worth of time and gas picking the car up and I didn’t intend to loose $500 on top of that if I found the car was misrepresented causing me to not go through with the purchase. He then spoke to a manager then got back on the phone and told me they would wave the non-refundable “fee” (that I brought up and volunteered to pay) and that they would hold the car until Thursday for me. I then gave him my card info and went to bed with only good feelings that I would be picking up a nice vehicle in just a few days. However, the following day I checked my account and realized that my card had not been run, I verified this with the bank then called the dealership. I asked to speak to a manager and got Manish on the phone. It was then that I learned my lisc. was on Mr. Miller’s personal cell phone and that it was the same phone that he asked me to send my card info too. I told the manager that this was a perfect recipe for Identity Theft and that he should be concerned and that he needed to discipline his employee! Further more, I was told by the manager that he had advised Mr. Miller to not charge my card and not to hold the vehicle (exactly the opposite of what Mr. Miller told me) because I wasn’t willing to except that my down payment would be non refundable. So if Mr. Miller was instructed not to charge my card, why did he record my card info against my explicit request that he not do so? Mannish explained to me that every time they have a card transaction it cost the company money and that he wasn’t going to loose that transaction fee with the bank or miss out on selling the car to other would be customers because he didn’t know if I was serious. News flash, no financial institution charges more than $5 per transaction. That’s why some gas stations in the sticks make you pay with cash unless you buy at least $5 worth of merchandise. So he was more concerned about loosing $10 then he was at loosing the $19,900 deal! I told him I had the cash in hand and that I was a serious buyer and he had my word I was coming to pick it up. I told him I was still willing to put $500 down if they would hold it but he refused to allow my down payment to be refunded if we weren’t satisfied with the car. I explained to Manish that I could not deal with them anymore after so much deceitfulness on their behalf and he hung up on me! I then called back and requested that he personally see to it that my personal info and card info was disposed of properly and he refused and told me not to bother him anymore before hanging up on me again! It seems to me that they were doing everything they could to get me there just to get my $500 down payment and that they wouldn’t allow it to be refunded because they knew there was something wrong with the vehicle and that there was a slim chance I would complete the purchase. That theory would be conducive to the other reviews I’ve read that have claimed they were using bait and switch techniques on vehicles that were misrepresented, were lemons, or were no longer available. If that’s the kind of car buying experience you want then go for it. More
