I contacted this dealer by via email by responding to an online listing of theirs, asking for more information on a specific car. I was then contacted, by return email, by their Internet Sales Manager, Clar online listing of theirs, asking for more information on a specific car. I was then contacted, by return email, by their Internet Sales Manager, Clara Sassone. I explained that I knew exactly what I was looking for in a car (2011 Fusion S) and I'd seen one of their vehicles listed after an online search and and used the site's "contact us" option to express my interest. I asked her to provide me a price quote for the car in question, taking into account any discounts Golf Mill Ford (GMF) may be offering and the rebates that I knew Ford was offering for this model. Well I never heard back from Clara but the next day Tom called me from GMF, said he worked on GMF's internet sales team, and asked when I could come in and drive the car. I explained that I didn't need to drive the car, I'd already driven one set up exactly as the one they were offering and had been impressed with it. I told Tom that all I needed from him was a net price (GMF's best price, tax, fees, and less any rebates) to know if I wanted to buy from GMF, and that I was going to purchase a car from some dealer within the next 3-5 days. Tom said he would get back to me with the numbers I was asking for. That was on a Friday. I didn't hear from him (or anyone at GMF) again that day, or the next (Sat), or on Sun. Finally on Monday, I emailed Clara Sassone again, since she had identified herself as the Internet Sales Manager for GMF, and asked if they were at all interested in selling me a car, because I had asked twice about prices and no one was responding to my requests. The following day, Tuesday, Matt Klinicki called and said he was responding to my email contact about a car. I repeated all the same information I'd shared with Clara Sassone and Tom by email and phone, and again said that I'd appreciate GMF's pricing on a specific 2011 Fusion S. I also asked that the URL link to the car's window sticker be emailed to me along with the price quote. Matt said he'd take care of it. Late that afternoon I got an email from Matt which included the URL link to the car's window sticker and the message that he couldn't provide me any pricing information - in other words, quote me price for the car - without first getting a deposit from me. I couldn't believe this. They wanted me to give them money in the form of a deposit before they would even tell me what they would charge me for a vehicle, and that's after having had to ask three times over four days for a price quote from them. In my opinion this takes car dealer sleaziness to an entirely new low. I emailed Matt back that I thought it was ridiculous for GMF to think that I would give them a deposit for a car before they would even tell me what they would charge me for that car. I will be buying a car in the next couple of days and that money will not be spent at Golf Mill Ford - now or ever. And I will tell as many people as possible about this dealer that feels a customer needs to put down a deposit before being told a price. Stay as far away from Golf Mill Ford as possible. In my opinion, it is a dealership that can't be trusted and doesn't deserve any customer's attention, and certainly not their money. More
The service team at Golf Mill greets you with a smile. They are friendly. But they consistently over promise and way under deliver. We have, regrettably, been taking our cars to them for the past 4 years. They are friendly. But they consistently over promise and way under deliver. We have, regrettably, been taking our cars to them for the past 4 years. I was stupid. Not sure why I kept going back. But I will not be going back again. The latest mistake: They sold a special order part, that had been ordered for me, to someone else. And I didn't find out until I drove to the dealership for my appointment. They didn't know it had been mistakenly sold. And didn't tell me until I called back 2 hours later to check on their progress - job supposed to take 2 hours. I would find somewhere else to take your car for service. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice....you know the rest. More
This is far the best dealership i have been too. I was referred here by my husband's father who had purchased a Ford Explorer and has been happy with his truck. I came in, i remember this was a snowy and referred here by my husband's father who had purchased a Ford Explorer and has been happy with his truck. I came in, i remember this was a snowy and cold day, but that did not stop me and my husband to buy a pre owned vehicle. Mark Gurgone was the one who attened us very helpful he answered all of our questions.I told him that i was referred by one of thier previous customers, he asked me for his name and he was in the system, they were going to send him the $100 check. But for my expierence it was great the vehicle we were interested was ready in no time, took it for a test drive, Mark showed me the great features the car had, also told me if we buy the vehicle we get free oil changes for a year and a half and car washes for lifetime this was a deal i couldnt miss. This was a my first but certainly not my last car from Golf Mill Ford. Great service, great sales people and great prices! More
I have inquired about an Escape Hybrid they had in stock and I got a reasonable and a fair quote back from a girl named Clara who was supposedly the internet sales manager at Golf Mill Ford. After I receive and I got a reasonable and a fair quote back from a girl named Clara who was supposedly the internet sales manager at Golf Mill Ford. After I received the quote, I gave them a call and so they set me up with a salesman whose name was Chris. The guy was friendly and seemed like he knew what he was talking. After test driving the vehicle Chris gave me the financing options and everything seemed to fit the quote I have been given before but I wanted to get some extra perks and a little bit lower monthly payment. Chris called over his manager Mario who was a very pleasant guy. Mario said we already qualify for a year and a half of free oil changes and he will also throw in a lifetime of free car washes to keep my gas saver clean. After talking to Mario for a little bit we came to an agreement and I got my payments lowered. I am very satisfied with this dealership and I will definitely buy my next car if it's new or used. Thank you Golf Mill Ford. More
Wow, I have to say Golf Mill Ford is a great car dealership all the way around. I walked in there thinking I was going to either get the run around or not be able to get the car I wanted. First, I c dealership all the way around. I walked in there thinking I was going to either get the run around or not be able to get the car I wanted. First, I called in and spoke to a lady on the phone. She told me the Dodge Charger I wanted was still in stock and answered all the questions I had, she was really nice. Which everyone knows, all car dealerships lie just to get you in the door. So I went there even though I didn't think the car was still there. So when I walked into the dealership, Jorge walked up to me asking how he can help me out. He was nice young man, willing to work with me. Needless to say the girl didn't lie to me and the car was still there! I was shocked. Jorge took me looking around their used car lot to see if I liked anything else they had so we could test drive the cars I was most interested in. I also have to say that Golf Mill Ford has a lot of nice pre owned cars. Even though I had let Jorge know from the start that my credit wasn't the worst but not the best either, it didn't seem to change anything. Typical salesmen would have brushed me off like it was nothing but he seemed not to care. That was great. I felt really comfortable working with a guy that didn't try to degrade me or get over on me because I was a woman and my credit situation. So we ended up test driving 3 different makes before I still went with the Dodge Charger, it was my favorite. The salesman knew every answer to every question I had. This was also a plus, seeing I wasn't asking questions on a Ford product. It makes buying a car so much easier when you have a salesmen who is nice and helpful.I love my car and Jorge definitely helped me out. He gave me a great price with the best interest rate that was possible with my credit. The managers I dealt with were also very nice and helpful. It was a great experience for me from the time I called into the dealership to driving away in my new Charger. I will be referring anyone that asks me where I got my car to Jorge Collazo at Golf Mill Ford. Thanks again... More
When I pulled into to Golf Mill Ford I felt like I had VIP service. You can tell their salesmen were anxious to help me out. It was my first time buying a brand new car, and I was a little nervous. James VIP service. You can tell their salesmen were anxious to help me out. It was my first time buying a brand new car, and I was a little nervous. James Miranda was a nice man who actually walked up to my car and greeted me with a smile. I purchased a brand new Ford Escape and James helped me and made my buying decision a lot easier than I expected. He helped me get financed at a great rate, even after I went to 3 other dealers that wouldn't work with me or wanted to give me an outragous interest rate. He helped me find the car that was right and knew Ford's products very well. I love the fact that he took time after I bought my car to help me set up my Sync, which I happen to love.I definitly will refer family and friends to Golf Mill Ford.I EVEN GOT A YEAR AND A HALF OF FREE OIL CHANGES WITH MY PURCHASE!! When the time comes to trade in my Escape, I will be back to Golf Mill Ford. Thank you James, you made my car buying experience so much better than the rest!! More
We were trying to decide between a Ford Escape and a Honda CRV and Gulf Mill made our decision very easy -- we went with the CRV. From the very beginning our experience with Gulf Mill was a disaster. Up Honda CRV and Gulf Mill made our decision very easy -- we went with the CRV. From the very beginning our experience with Gulf Mill was a disaster. Upon arriving, the sales force was milling around the entrance smoking. We started working with one saleswoman who seemed to know nothing about the car. Every time we asked a question, she had to look at the sticker on the window. And we weren't asking about an unpopular car. The Escape is one of Ford's best sellers. When we took the test ride, she also couldn't answer any of our questions. She tried to demonstrate the Sync system but had no idea how it worked. This is the MAJOR selling feature that Ford is promoting in its cars right now and she couldn't even operate it. She had to get another salesman to come out and show us how it worked. Then it got worse. We went inside to get an understanding of the pricing of the car and she gave us an outrageous calculation of our monthly payment. It nearly $100 higher than the calculations we had done ourselves before arriving at the dealership. When we asked about it, we were told they were quoting us using one of the higher interest rates because they couldn't be sure we would qualify for the promotional interest rate. We asked them to please re-run the quote using the low interest rate -- because we knew our credit score and we knew we would qualify based on our good credit. They said they couldn't do that because then we would be upset if we didn't qualify for that rate. We told them we would take that risk. Give us the quote with the good interest rate and if we didn't qualify later on, we would understand why. They refused to requote using the lower interest rate. Then they asked us if we were going to trade in our car. We weren't sure if we were going to trade it in but we would be interested in getting a price quote on the trade it so we could consider it. They asked for they key to the car so they could "look at it." A few minutes later they came back and gave us an extremely low off - 50% less than blue book value on fair condition. We told them that was unacceptable when considering the blue book value. He then started making up some nonsense about being able to resell the car for that value. I then told him that if he was going to jerk us around over $500 when we were trying to complete a $25,000 transaction, it was clear they didn't actually want to sell us a car. Then another manager came over with a really hard "What can we do to get you into a new car today?" routine. I told him that we were only shopping today, we were planning to buy in two weeks when we had our bonuses. He continued the "what can we do to put you in a new car today?" routine. It was like talking to a brick wall so we left. From beginning to end, our experience at Gulf Mill Ford was simply awful. The saleswoman didn't know anything about one of their top selling cars. The used car manager was slime and clearly trying to rip us off and the sales manager tried to use really aggressive sales techniques and was uninterested in what we actually wanted. The shame is, we might have bought an Escape with a better sales experience. From a vehicle perspective, the CRV and Escape were very comparable. However, the Honda dealership was relaxed and clearly showed they were willing to work with us. The Ford dealership was aggressive and had no interest in listening to our needs or situation. More
If I could give golf mill ford negative stars I would. From the moment I got out of my car, I was pounced on by a sales person. Then when I asked to speak with the person I had been communicating my emai From the moment I got out of my car, I was pounced on by a sales person. Then when I asked to speak with the person I had been communicating my email with it took well over 10 minutes for her to come out of her office. After speaking with me for less than one minute she handed me back to the sales person who had pounced on me previously. The sales person was so inexperienced and clueless. I explained what I was looking for and off she went to talk to her manager to get us an initial price quote. After more than 10 minutes of waiting, she came back with a full list price offer. I could not believe it since the email quote (on a the same model but slightly different options ) was more than $4000 less so I was the victim of a bait and switch. I told her that I had two other price quotes for the car as I had configured it that were more than $3000 less than this full list price offer and that I was leaving. This clueless salesperson says to me. Can you wait just a minute, I have to tell my boss when you are leaving. Can you believe this?! So then the sales manager comes over and I inform him that I am absolutely discusted that he would attempt this full list price offer on me, especially after his email department had low balled me an offer on a similar model. We went round and round and he fianally gave me a relatively fair price but at this point he had loss any trust or good will that I had for him or this dealership. I could not trust him that this dealership would give me fair prices on other things such as service in the future if I bought a car here. The only reason I see for starting with a full price offer on a car is that they were hoping that I did not know enough that car buying is a process of negotiation and wanted this new car so much that I would pay anything. This concerns me on whole different level because the area that this dealership is located has a large amount of first generation immigrants and I am very afraid that this dealership may prey on the lack of knowledge that these people may have in negotiating a car deal. You advertise your BBB Rating. I fell for that one too. I know that I will also be talking to the BBB as well becasue NO ONE should have been treated the way that I was. I felt I needed a very hot shower after going through the extremely SLIMY dealings at Golf Mill Ford. More
While we were initially quite unhappy with our purchase of a used car and the dealer's response, the issue has been satisfactorily resolved and we are happy with our purchase and the service provided.
