It is important to be clear that what the customer complained about was the Doc fee. The doc fee is a typical fee charged to every customer (including the state the customer lived in. The customer used profane language to both a female Business manager and the sales person (both of which were polite and vigorously trying to be accommodating). In my 35 years in this industry, I have never met a more rude human being of any gender or back-round. For the record - we knew exactly what to do. We explained that all dealers have a state approved documentation fee (NY - where she is from is no different). As a licensed dealer, you must charge everyone or no one by law. dealers that do not run the risk of being accused and charged with unfair business practices or risk a "class action" law suit. IMPORTANT -I introduced myself to the customer while she was standing in front of the business office complaining it was taking too long just after she pushed the used car manager for another $2500 on her trades on delivery. The paperwork had to be completely re-done. The customer's complaint was that we added things after the fact. She forgot to mention, the deal was made on a rare Cadillac Escalade and she agreed to a deal involving two trades by phone. When she arrived, we were prepared and ready to provide the same level of good service all of our customers receive. THE CUSTOMER renegotiated her trade values on delivery by $2,500! This survey is an example of how this customer feels and treats people in general (not gold coast handling the sale improperly). Gold Coast treated her with respect. She treated my employees with a high level of disregard. She also publicly referred to me (Bill Camastro) as a "mother f'er." I have never responded to a survey like this in 35 years in the industry. 1) Maybe Gold Coast Dealership isnt aware that there is currently a PANDEMIC, but unfortunately there is.- It shouldnt take a dealership 2 1/2 hours to get paperwork reedy for a customer - Please understand there were two adults and a 9 month old waiting INSIDE and OUTSIDE for 2 1/2 hours while this dealership prepared the paperwork. 2)The "renegotiation" was just part of normal everyday business - of course, the dealer wanted to pay a sub-par amount for the trade-ins. They gladly agreed to the higher amount when they realized I was well aware of what the trade-ins were worth 3) When a purchase price of a new vehicle is neogiaited ALL fees need to be spoken about up front. To not mention the fees at all - but just expect a customer to write a check for any amount without questions is absurd- - sorry, but an educated customer I am and came ready with a calculator and figured out that the final bill was padded. 4) Also, I find it very interesting that when figuring out the total final bill the dealership was charging the wrong sales tax rate. 5) The only rude and disrespectful conversation that took place was when "Bill" in front of his ilk said that he wasnt going to sell me the car cause I was questioning his dubious fees. I understand that the vehicle I was purchasing happened to be "hot" but I find it very sad that these same people were all furloughed this past winter and victims of the slowed economy - How soon they all forget that its loyal customers like me (yes, this is my 6th Escalade purchase) that keep these people employed.

To be clear...I told the customer I did not want to sell the vehicle due to the way she conducted herself. She calls her actions "every day" business yet calls a doc fee (on every purchase order in most dealerships, in most states) "shady". This customer shouted and used repeated profanity in the showroom with each of the three people she met. She fails to mention, I approached her (not knowing who she was) simply to make sure she was being taken care of. She told my people she wanted to see me after cursing out my salesperson and Business manager. No one in our showroom used profane language or raised their voice. The customer was at the store a little over one hour. Most of that time was due to her renegotiating and us needing to re-bill her paperwork. We have surveillance in our showroom on a time lapse digital recorder as well as the entire conversation. She was at the store for 1 hour and 14 minutes. This customer has not purchased 6 Escalades from Gold Coast and regardless of how slow the economy was or wasn't, no one should be spoken to or berated the way this customer did with our staff.. Lastly...We paid our people through the pandemic and every person that was employed here before the pandemic, remained employed here. We are very proud of that. We are also proud of an excellent reputation and Customer satisfaction scores from our customer base..
