Beware of any vehicles sold at Goben Zero. I would give them a zero. Our previous purchases from Goben have been good. Until the latest…and our last. On our car purchased from them in 2022 …they fixed the bumper/cover/headlight with glue and zip-ties When I asked anout a prior accident they said it was our responsibility to ask for CarFox. We have pics and video showing the cobble job they did. Hard to fathom how they, in good faith, let this car leave their lot. More
Bad business practices from Goben Cars. I should have been leary when they stated that they only wanted me to drive around the parking lot for a test drive. They said a Wheel bearing issue would cause the car to not drive well. I was ok with that because wheel bearings are a simple fix. I purchased a 2014 Ford Escape from Goben Cars in March 2022. They held it for the first 2 weeks of purchase, stating there was a minor issue with the wheel bearings that needed to be resolved before I took ownership of the car. I thought great! They are making sure I leave with a sound vehicle. Shortly after taking ownership of the vehicle, I noticed some issues. I took the car back to take advantage of the 100 day warranty. I specifically asked that they check the transmission and engine for issues. They came back and said it was an issue with the Cadillac converter and motor mounts. They also mentioned that they noticed the breaks were bad and would fix that issue to provide good customer service. They held the car for another two weeks without offering a loaner vehicle (sales man said I could potential obtain a loaner. Service Manager ignored my request even after mentioned we needed another option to get our kids and my husband places. My husband had an out of town work meeting to attend at the same time our kids had school functions). Anyway, I got the vehicle back and I still noticed something off. I decided to get a second opinion from the Ford Dealership in Middleton. I again asked for a specific review of the transmission & engine. They immediately stated I had a transmission issue. Even though I was under the 100 day Goben Warranty, they ended up using my extended warranty which I paid the deductible for the repair. They also mentioned that Goben does not have the equipment to diagnosis transmission issues. However, Goben works with them on a regular basis to maintain their cars. Goben also mentioned this when they sent my car for repairs to Ford for the wheel bearing. Funny how they did not send my car to Ford when I asked them to thoroughly inspect the transmission. I contacted Goben that I wanted to return my vehicle at this point. They said they would escalate this issue. I never heard back. I was under 100 days at that point. In addition to the transmission issue, I picked up my vehicle. I have a receipt showing that the brakes are in the yellow zone. Meaning they need to be urgently replaced. So again, Goben lied about replacing the breaks. With my entire experience I feel that they were dishonest, shady, and sold me the extended warranty so they would not have to pay for the repairs. The only maintenance issue disclosed at time of purchase was the wheel bearing issue. More
I would go elsewhere for the best trade-in value for your vehicle. They do have great used car prices; however it’s because they low-ball trade-ins. I was offered a very low offer and they just assumed I wou vehicle. They do have great used car prices; however it’s because they low-ball trade-ins. I was offered a very low offer and they just assumed I would take it. I’ve bought a lot of cars and as a woman who shops alone, some car dealers treat you well and some don’t when you come alone. I did feel that I was not treated welcoming and it was assumed I would be taking any trade value and didn’t have any background or reason to not accept it. I was given the paperwork and told to sign barely before getting my trade in value. I told them I had already received an offer 3 grand better elsewhere and they responded with “we have to make a profit too.” They said “if we could get to your amount, which we likely can’t, would you buy it right now?” I said no because I’ve received higher offers already and have more cars to see. I was told “well if a bidding war is your agenda then so be it.” I left the dealer and within 30 minutes received a trade-in from another dealer for $4,500 more than Gobens with 0 haggling! I had a terrible taste in my mouth after their reaction to me shopping around and likely would not have returned even if they could have reached the trade-in value I had asked for. I went to the next dealer and was treated as I expect to be treated and nothing was assumed to take place and it was an even playing field. More
Bought a truck with a broken front bumper and broken topper. They said the topper was just frozen and they would fix it. They said they already ordered a whole new bumper and would fix it soon. Turn topper. They said the topper was just frozen and they would fix it. They said they already ordered a whole new bumper and would fix it soon. Turns out the topper was completely broken (it was a nice locked ford retractable topper $2000). A month goes by they say they actually haven't ordered a bumper and they will do it now, and we make an appointment to fix the bumper and topper(was asked if I wanted the same topper I said yes). During that month the engine had 2 different failures and had to be fixed twice. Month goes by, time for the appointment to get the bumper and topper fixed. I picked up the truck and they didn't fix the bumper (It's still pointed towards the ground) and they put on a tri fold bed cover. It takes up 2-3 feet of my bed by the cab, I'm no longer able to carry motorcycles without going through the 10-15 minute process of laying on the bed and picking up the 50 pound topper every time) which was the whole point of me buying a truck. They refuse to do anymore work on the bumper nor order me a different topper. Worked with Mike(Service Manager) Antonio (Sales rep) Long story short; Bought a truck with a broken bumper and topper. They said they'd fix it and give me the same one. Returned with a broken bumper still and a different worse topper that I can't use due to it taking up 3 feet of the 6 foot bed, without going through the 10-15 minute process of laying on the bed and picking up the 50 pound topper every time More

Went looking for a car for my daughter. The car we came to see was horrible! Trashed inside and out. And they wanted $9000 for it! Considering the condition it was in I’m betting it’s not gona run very lon to see was horrible! Trashed inside and out. And they wanted $9000 for it! Considering the condition it was in I’m betting it’s not gona run very long. Test drove another one and the salesman sat in the back seat with no mask on. Got back he got very pushy, telling us no other dealerships are gona have anything that they didn’t have. Fortunately that was not the case. I will never go there again! More
