At this point being very frustrated I went online to the Glynn Smith website. It was at this time while searching their inventory I found a truck with the features that I wanted. It was late at night, so I filled out a request for a quote. The next morning I received a call before 10:00am from Billy Edge. Billy was very friendly and had all of the information on hand that I had submitted the night before. After a brief discussion he went right to work on my deal. He called back within 2 hours with a very good offer on the new truck. Having done my research online on all of the incentives and rebates, having just sold my old truck and having some GM reward points, I was in a great position to make the purchase. I countered with a final offer to see if the deal could be sweetened just a little. Billy went right to work on my behalf and called back within 5 minutes to say they could not meet my price but they were able to meet me in the middle. Now remember, at this point I have not visited this dealership. I verbally accepted the deal and advised that I would be in Opelika the next day. The next day I called Billy to let him know I was on the way. Upon arriving at the dealership the truck was parked out front all washed and ready to go. While the managers and I filled out all the paperwork, Billy went and filled the truck up with gas. This was the easiest car purchase. The deal was done on the phone and delivery went smoothly. I would recommend Billy and the Opelika Glynn Smith team for your next vehicle buying experience. I wish I had started off with Glynn Smith saving myself a month of frustration at the other dealers. Wait a couple of years maybe they will get things right. Such service to the customer. And things like fixing the problems on hand. I've probably been there fifteen plus times to accomplish nothing! My experience at Glynn Smith Chevrolet-Jeep Dealer was a pleasant one. The Sale Representative, (Dan Cooper) was courteous and had a pleasant attitude, which was helpful in assisting me with my selection. pleasant one. The Sale Representative, (Dan Cooper) was courteous and had a pleasant attitude, which was helpful in assisting me with my selection. Every step of the process went well. On the other hand, my experience at the service department was not as pleasant. When it was time for my oil change, I made an appointment. I arrived at the service depatment at least 10 minutes prior to my appointment. I was told that it would be one (1) hour waiting time. Which, to me made no sense, since I had an appointment. I was there approximately 2 hours. The personnel in the service department, were not as friendly and willing to assist as your sales department personnel. Although, I probably would buy another car from Glynn Smith, I wouldn't recommend your service department. Linda S. Mitchell More
Tried to trade for pickup advertised at "$12,*** , DO THE MATH".
My car (Less than 2K miles) had Kelly blue book trade in value of appx $17K. They had a car like mine but with 4 times the mileage a DO THE MATH".
My car (Less than 2K miles) had Kelly blue book trade in value of appx $17K. They had a car like mine but with 4 times the mileage and with out upgrades (Spoiler, fog lights and alloy wheels) on the lot for 'sale' at over 18K!
Value of my trade was confirmed later by Toyota dealer, and Kelly blue book online. I was told," it would take my trade (17K) plus a couple thousand" to make the deal ON A 12K TRUCK!!! So...17K plus 2K= $19,000!!!! (Plus I assume a mark-up when it is re-sold)
I "DID THE MATH......". IT DOES NOT ADD UP! Dealer keeps all rebates, PLUS a $5K profit on my trade, PLUS the $2K cash AND any additional mark-up they put on it when they sell it!!! (After all, a lesser car on thier lot was SALE priced at $18K) They were trying to make a profit total of over 7 THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! On a truck advertised at 12K.
My advise.....YOU DO THE MATH FOR YOURSELF, BEFORE DEALING WITH THESE RIP OFF ARTISTS!!!
More
