Purchased a used car that was pegged for auction by the dealer. It was listed on their used car website and what I was looking for so I assumed they had a desire to move it. Was told it would be as is an dealer. It was listed on their used car website and what I was looking for so I assumed they had a desire to move it. Was told it would be as is and no option to have car inspected even after managers “safety check” was done and they cautioned the same issues I suspected. Car was priced below blue book value and I took the risk as the car was in decent shape otherwise and low miles. After purchase I had it looked at and the repairs needed put the money invested on top of the purchase price well over the blue book value. No negotiations firm price even with known issue because of how far under blue book it was priced. I’m fully aware they were unloading a trade in and I was not a customer purchasing a brand new or certified trade in however the way we were treated during the buying process it will be the only car I ever purchase from them… new or used. 45 minutes waiting to be helped with cash in hand, mixed information on payment methods accepted (cash vs check) so I wasted more time getting cash vs being able to write a check. Again I was in no way going to be their #1 customer for the month or day or even hour but didn’t need to be treated the way we were. To top it off the car had no gas… drove off the lot with the gas gauge buried on E. Go somewhere else if you need a “cash car” or any car in my opinion. More
Everything is bad. All I’ve ever had are issues from the moment I picked up my car the day I bought it. And every Service appointment I’ve ever had has been a struggle: wanting to charge me outrageous amounts for a diagnostic examination, owing me a full tank of gas and only filling it a quarter of the way up. “Complimentary car washes” that I only received half of the time. After asking for a phone call before repairing a part on my car they just “went ahead and fixed it” and still charged me for it. I would NOT recommend Glenbrook Hyundai for anyone looking for reliable car care or service. You’d have better luck at Fort Wayne Kia or Kelly Chevrolet More
They shouldn’t sell cars that they don’t know how to service. I feel like I was taking advantage of. After some research I found out that a BMW gets an oil change every year NOT every 6 months.
