I investigated this customer complaint regarding the purchase of the Wrangler. This customer has never even purchased a vehicle from our dealership. I was informed that the salesperson actually drove the vehicle up to Michigan for the customer to see and did everything he possibly could to earn his business. The customer's requests to complete the deal kept changing and they eventually got to the point where we were unable to make a deal. We make every effort to negotiate with our customers to put deals together but in this case, the customers continued to ask for more and more. We would agree on a price and then he would say he wants something else thrown into the deal. Our request to secure a credit card deposit was not unreasonable considering the lengths we went to to sell the vehicle. The deal was not changed after we requested a deposit, the customer just wanted more off on the vehicle which we were unable to do. We make every effort to resolve all customer complaints in a timely manner. Customer satisfaction is our number one goal. Matt McKibben General Manager

Glenbrook Dodge Chrysler Jeep Fiat responded

After reviewing this situation with the salesperson, the sales manager and the customer, we discovered that the customer had dropped and damaged the key to his new vehicle shortly after taking delivery of the vehicle. The damage resulted in the vehicle having to be towed and the key replaced at the customers cost because the vehicles factory warranty had expired. Although it is our goal to take care of our customers before during and after the sale, we can't be held responsible for damages caused to keys after the vehicle has been delivered. Because of the security measures built into newer vehicles now, keys have become very expensive to replace and they also have to be coded to work with the vehicle. In this case, the customer was offered 1 additional key at the dealer cost but he declined. Glenbrook Dodge Chrysler Jeeps makes every attempt to resolve all customer complaints in a timely manner. Customer satisfaction is our number one goal.
