Glenbrook Dodge Chrysler Jeep Fiat responded

In response to the review posted by our customer, the following is a description of the events that occurred that day. The customer brought in their vehicle for two recalls. Our technician noted that the dome light had been disassembled and was not installed prior to the customer bringing in their vehicle. One of the recalls was for the dome light but did not include replacement of the dome light lens. After completing the recall and trying to reinstall the light, our technician noted that the dome light assembly was broken. The service advisor called the customer to see if they wanted to purchase the part with no labor charge to install it since it was already apart. The customer declined. Later, the customer came to pick the vehicle up and stated that we must have broken it, there's no way he did that while he was working on it. The service manager advised the customer that the technician advised us prior to working on the vehicle that it was broken. With that info, the service manager told the customer that he was not willing to purchase the part for him. Customer left. A few hours later, the customer's brother and mother came in and became verbally abusive with the service advisor and manager. At that time, they were asked to leave the dealership and not return. We cannot be held responsible for a part that was damaged by the customer prior to bringing it into our shop.
