Glen Toyota repaired my 2001 Camry. It took 2 visits to find the culprit and getting updates on the work was not the easiest to obtain. Also, the car was in the shop a total of 6 days altogether. Not very happy! After changing the oil and routine maintenance, I was told that I need to resurface front brake disks and put new front pads. The cost - $290. I brought the car Thursday morning aroun maintenance, I was told that I need to resurface front brake disks and put new front pads. The cost - $290. I brought the car Thursday morning around 10:30 am. I was told that it will take about 3 hours. Also, I was told that fixing xxP door opening costs around $650. I agreed and WALKED home (good that I live nearby). I was waiting, as agreed, for a call to get back my car. Around 5:00 pm I WALKED again to Toyota (while no one called) to get my car. I was told that the car can not be picked - instead of resurfacing the disks - it needs new disks. And the cost is almost TWICE as much. Next morning I received a text and list of services - the front disks and pads - around $470 and the front passenger door fix - $1,250 (twice as much as previously quoted - I declined, of course.) I approved the disks/pads and some minor electric bulbs installation/replacements. Again - waiting till 4:00 pm. No-one calls. So, I called and was told that the car is ready. The service manager sent a driver to pick me up. The cost was $701. That is the story. Since I was TWO days without my car I needed to cancel a few appointments and a few other reschedule a few other things. Theoretically, Toyota should pick up the cost. More
