I give Hassel Volvo all fives. The only thing they could have done better for me is give me the car as a gift. This was my second experience buying a car at Hassel and it was even better than the first (wh have done better for me is give me the car as a gift. Carey Bruce bent over backwards to help me find the right car with the specs I was looking for. She kept an eye out for that car and let me know about it as soon as it came into the showroom and made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. All this with absolutely no pressure. I drove off the lot in my 2012 XC70 feeling like I had just won the lottery. I felt like I made a really great decision in buying this car. Carey made that possible. Anne Marie took care of all the paperwork involved and made sure I understood all the fine print without being patronizing. I have been servicing my Volvos at Hassel for the last three years and Joe Tiso always makes sure I am well cared for. I have never left the showroom or the service area with a bad taste in my mouth. I can tell that they really seem to care about customer satisfaction. This experience has been the most satisfying consumer experience I have ever had. I love my car and look forward to buying my next one at Hassell. More

5-star reviews and rewards are easily won when selling quality new cars with a smile. It’s harder when selling anything else, as my story illustrates. To make a VERY long story short: I purchased a use quality new cars with a smile. It’s harder when selling anything else, as my story illustrates. To make a VERY long story short: I purchased a used car that turned out to have serious mechanical issues and returned it under Hassel Volvo’s 30-day warranty. Hassel Volvo agreed to repair the vehicle, mentioning that their priority was to keep costs down. SEVEN weeks later, the car was not fixed and I had no guarantee that it would ever be satisfactorily fixed. A BBB complain later, Hassel Volvo finally agreed to reimburse me. Considering that I paid insurance for two months, two inspections, three back-and-forth trips to Glen Cove from out of state, purchased missing parts for the car (armrest and owner manual), and had to rent a car for two weeks after my own car irrevocably broke down, I feel a $250+ compensation would have been fair customer service (and would have been worth a second star on this review)… but I learned my lesson and that is priceless. While Hassel Volvo seemed somewhat embarrassed by the situation (a sick technician), it still is bad business. It shouldn’t have taken seven weeks and a complaint to the Better Business Bureau to authorize a return. So, in conclusion: while my experience doesn’t appear to be the norm based on the reviews on this website, I would strongly warn against buying any used vehicle from Hassel Volvo or hoping to have them honor any warranty without a long, painful and very much futile fight. My advice: before choosing a dealership, check the Better Business Bureau’s website www.bbb.org (where five complaints have been filed against Hassel Volvo, by the way). Best of luck to you! More

My wife and I had gone to another dealer to test drive a car, and we were treated to the typical car dealer spin, bogus salesmanship, and lack of price transparency. In sharp contrast, Cary was upfront with us from the beginning, was able to get us the exact model we were looking for (a particularly impressive feat given recent Hurricane Sandy related power outages and car-destruction that had occurred) at a great and very competitive price. She was our advocate in the process. I highly recommend Cary, and would have no hesitation in going to her for our next car purchase and recommending friends to her and the Hassel dealership. More
Ken and Matthew were very attentive from the first contact through delivery and follow up. As it was an out-of-state, sight unseen purchase we had more concerns about having items double checked befor contact through delivery and follow up. Just bought a used avalon, when i saw the car it was nice just had some scratches on bumper hassle fixed and painted it free of charge!! Our salesperson (Richard) endured our endless mind-changes and other complicated issues with class, patience, warmth, sincerity, and aplomb. Vincent, the sales manager, while necessarily tough, was a gentleman. He went out of his way to make our "deal" work. Steve (service) was attentive and professional, and Ann Marie (finance) was pleasant, informative and helpful. Any other unnamed employees we dealt with during our rather complicated transaction were all pleasant and attentive, as well. We put this dealership through the ringer, and they passed with flying colours. I would definitely recommend them again, and would certianly purchase from them again. More
Their business is poorly run. It is impossible to get any appointment without waiting weeks and weeks. They don't care if you have an urgent problem with the car. Do they have just One repair guy? And they NEVER have a loaner car available - so ridiculous. I guess they have just One loaner car too. I'm sorry I ever bought a car from them. Won't make that mistake again! More
