I recently had reason to bring my near new Volvo XC90 into Glen Cove Volvo as the check engine light went on, pretty unusual for a car with 5k miles on it. They had given me an appointment fairly quickly and the car was assigned to Nino Gambino, as I had requested based on my prior confidence in his work on my other cars.. He diagnosed the problem as a defective part that was involved in pressure in the fuel tank, a part that was not in stock, and rarely went bad. They checked and it was not available at any local dealer or warehouse that they could readily obtain. They had to special order it. They were not exactly sure how long that might take and if it available elsewhere in the country or if it had to be sent in from overseas. Mr. Gambino was able however to alleviate my biggest concerns, that driving it would not hurt anything, that it was covered under warranty and that it would not cause any breakdown. I trust his professional judgement implicitly. I have found this dealership to be far different then many, in part because the Service Manager, Steve, is personally involved with the operation of his department. This is far different from others where the .Service Managers seem to avoid consumer interaction if at all possible; he actually seems to relish on being of assistance and truly seems to care about their customers. This is refreshing in today's business world. I was quite pleased when I got a call two days later that the part arrived and that they could squeeze me into Nino's schedule the following day if I so desired. As the week before a holiday, when many shops are jammed with people looking to get service done before family trips, I found this courtesy a bit impressive and I realize this is due to both Mr Gambino and Steve and for that I am very appreciative. I was able to get the work done quickly, relax in the showroom and be on my way, as always having confidence in the work of Nino. The check engine light went off immediately and has not returned, proving his diagnosis as accurate., as always. My thanks and kudos to the two professionals for the job well done and the courtesy they extended me. Nothing could have been better. More
I had the best experience at Glen Cove Volvo! Somehow my credit card got stuck inside the console of my car. Jocelyn at the service desk was so polite and professional! She got me in touch with Tommy who al credit card got stuck inside the console of my car. Jocelyn at the service desk was so polite and professional! She got me in touch with Tommy who also works on the service desk. He was so very nice and also very professional. Within minutes, he was able to retrieve my card for me! All with no fuss and a smile. Tommy and Jocelyn are a total pleasure to deal with in the service department. What a great experience. If I have another issue with my car it is nice to know that they will be there to help! More
On December 9, 2021, we leased our second Volvo X90 SUV from Glen Cove Volvo. We had been quite pleased by how professional, responsive, fair and pleasant our first experience had been with this dealership from Glen Cove Volvo. We had been quite pleased by how professional, responsive, fair and pleasant our first experience had been with this dealership and Service Department. We didn't believe we would actually consummate a deal that day but our Salesperson, Dennis Romero, reviewed the unique situation/atmosphere supply chain and pandemic issues brought to the table. Dennis, was polite, knowledgeable, honest, educated us, answered all of our questions and then turned into our advocate in working out an excellent deal for us with Kristin Kendrick of Management, , We would highly recommend Glen Cove Volvo and, especially, Dennis Romero to anyone interested in buying or leasing a Volvo. Sadly a terrible customer service experience. I was calling to look at buying a car over the phone after emailing a sales specialist a few times. I wanted a new volvo with all the extras and they had one available on the lot. Right from the start the woman who answered the phone talked over me with each sentence. She said they would never give me information to buy the car over the phone. I couldn't believe she was speaking to a buyer this way - extremely rude and arrogant. She basically told me the sale didn't matter that their policy was to visit in person. How absurd does that sound today when I can call or go online to have a car delivered to my doorstep. Very poor training for this frontline worker. I called a different Volvo dealer in Rhode Island instead and they took my credit card over the phone with all the incentives - plus an offer on my trade in! It took 30 minutes at the most. More
Absolutely shocking! Took my S90 in for a NYS inspection, and it cost me $700 in tires, that I don’t think I needed. Work was done on my car WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR PERMISSION. A violation of N inspection, and it cost me $700 in tires, that I don’t think I needed. Work was done on my car WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR PERMISSION. A violation of NYS laws. They passed my car BEFORE the work was done too. Another violation. Sent me out on the road even though they knew the car was unsafe. [I did not]. Took 2 weeks to correct the issues. Stay away! More

Anyone that buys from this dealership would be a fool. I leased an 2021 S90 and have 1150 miles. I purchased a tire and rim insurance policy. Jason the service person in charge sent me a voicemail total contrary to his and my conversation. He hung up on me rather than act in a professional manner. Purchasing from Volvo of Glen Cove will only give you anxiety unnessary when you purchase a new automobile. Stay clear and buy and service elsewhere. More
I just picked up my brand new XC90 yesterday. I found the sales staff extremely helpful. We were able to negotiate a price that I found acceptable and the car is beautiful. We took a 7 year protection plan with tire and rim protection and again we were able to negotiate an acceptable deal. Our only misgiving was that we did see customers without masks and at least one staff member with the mask pulled down off his face and there was nothing in the way of protective partitions. This is an area that could really stand significant improvement. They did have bottles of hand disinfectant all around and readily available, but they should be doing more to protect against COVID. Otherwise I would give them 5 stars.. More

Both John and Deron exceeded my expectations throughout the acquisition. I was even introduced to the service technician responsible for the Polestar software upgrade I requested because I had some technical questions! I could have gone to my neighborhood Volvo dealer in Bayside N.Y. or even Karp Volvo, but I decided, once again, to make the long trip to Glen Cove! I was not disappointed! More
