Good value shady sales practices I bought a CPO S60 from Glen Cove Volvo. I found what seemend to be a great value and visited the dealership. The salesperson I dealt with was not interested in anything but the sale and that was clear from the start. Being in sales it was clear that this grumpy guy wasnt interested in making me feel good about doing business with them. Once we finally agreed on a price I went to sit down with the GM to sign paperwork. everything was fine until I noticed the final price was $400 higher than the agreed upon price. I brought this mistake to his attention and he explained that it was for a "total loss package" which was required by law in NYS. I asked him to show me where it states that I legally had to purchase this extra and he could not show me. At this point I just wanted to get out of there with my new car. I left and after researching the situation it was clear I did not legally have to buy this "total loss protection" package. i charged it back on my CC and that was that. Just beware of the shady sales tactics of the GM. More
Unbelievably high service cost. I did an oil change for my XC60 here and was charged $183.33 before tax (10% off discount applied). It included 9 qts of engine oil (yes, not 7.8 qts I did an oil change for my XC60 here and was charged $183.33 before tax (10% off discount applied). It included 9 qts of engine oil (yes, not 7.8 qts as the owner's manual shows), and 1 hour of labor. I had very good experience doing service here when it was Hassel Volvo Glen Cove, and I had never seen such ridiculous prices. Probably the new owner changed its strategy to earn money. More
Best new car deliver ever! I have taken delivery of new cars from Chevy, Pontiac (twice), Isuzu, Honda (twice), Chrysler (twice), GMC, Ford, Mercedes (twice), Volkswagen (5 tim I have taken delivery of new cars from Chevy, Pontiac (twice), Isuzu, Honda (twice), Chrysler (twice), GMC, Ford, Mercedes (twice), Volkswagen (5 times), BMW and now Volvo of Glen Cove. I will say that the delivery of this Volvo V60 was the smoothest, most pleasant delivery of all. I said that I would be there at 2pm, and low and behold, the car was out front waiting for us with license plates on.. When we walked in, Boris greeted us with the paperwork all filled out. Boris and Kristin were a pleasure to deal with and we had fun kidding around. My wife was taken out to the car where all of the features were explained to her, and off we went! Fantastic! More

I highly recommend asking for Dom when you walk in the door, he was very easy to have a conversation with which made the few hours I spent in the dealership fly by. When they brought out my XC 60 Otto took me outside and explained everything very slowly and clearly to make sure I understood every aspect of the car. I have to admit it was greatly appreciated considering I have never had such a high tech vehicle! More

I am a long time Volvo owner and Glen Cove Volvo is by far the best dealership around. I was so impressed with the dealership that three weeks later I traded in my other 2012 Volvo for a 2015.5 S60. The sales staff never pushes you and is only concerned that you are happy and get what you want. You leave knowing that you received the best deal possible and have a safe and impressive vehicle. On another positive note the service department is the best around which only continues the positive experience and enjoyment that comes with the new Volvo's. More

S60 Purchase from Glen Cove I dealt with Boris for an Over Seas Delivery purchase of a 2015 S60. Boris knows his stuff and never pushed options on me. I never felt pressure to buy anything I didn't want. There was no "I have to talk to my manager" or sit here while I go do this or that. Not once did he say "what can I do to get you in this car today". It was more of, this is the car if you like it you buy it if not you don't it's all up to you. I highly recommend the OSD program and no one could be better at it than Boris at Glen Cove Volvo. I wish every car purchase could be this easy. A real class act. I have no experience with the service department (yet) Thank you Glen Cove! More
I THOUGHT I HAD A GREAT BUYING EXPERIENCE I TRADED IN A VOLVO FOR A 2011 C70. THE MANAGER PUT EVERYTHING TOGETHER AS I THOUGHT THE CAR WOULD NOT FALL WITHIN MY BUDGET. HE TOLD ME THE CAR HAD A I TRADED IN A VOLVO FOR A 2011 C70. THE MANAGER PUT EVERYTHING TOGETHER AS I THOUGHT THE CAR WOULD NOT FALL WITHIN MY BUDGET. HE TOLD ME THE CAR HAD A 50,000 FULL MAINTENANCE GUARANTEE AND I WOULD GET A 100,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARENTEE ON TOP OF THAT. THE PAYMENTS WERE JUST A COUPLE OF DOLLARS OVER BUDGET WHICH WAS OK. I SHOULD HAVE REALIZED HOW SCREWED I WAS GETTING WHEN I CAME BACK TO SHOW MY WIFE THE CAR AND THE CAR I THOUGHT WE HAD DECIDED ON WAS NOT THE ONE I WAS GETTING. NICE BAIL AND SWITCH. ALTHOUGH I WAS NOT THRILLED WITH THE COLOR I WAS INTO GETTING A CONVERTIBLE AND LET IT SLIDE. THE MANAGER CAME AND SHOWED ME THE PURCHASE CONTRACT WHICH I READ. HE SAID HE WAS TAKING IT TO MAKE A COPY AND I DID NOT REALIZE UNTIL A FEW MONTHS LATER MY 60 MONTH PURCHASE MAGICALLY BECAME A 72 MONTH. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE MANAGER WAS NO LONGER THERE. ALTHOUGH I KNEW I READ 60 MONTHS AS I HAVE BOUGHT AND LEASED MANY CARS IN MY TIME I NEVER THOUGHT TO READ IT AGAIN JUST A FEW MINUTES LATER. WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE A SERVICE APPT. I SPECIFICALLY VERIFIED THAT I WAS NOT TO HAVE ANY BILL AND THE SERVICE WAS UNDER MY 50,000 MAG. WARRANTY. I MADE AN APPT FOR A CAR. IT WAS ABOUT 3-4 WEEKS AWAY AS THEY SAID THEY Had no cars available until then. i set my schedule around dropping off the car and as i was leaving to go to the dealership i received a call that someone had not brought back the car on time and they didn't have one. since i had made my schedule it totally screwed up my day but things happen. when i called to set a new appt, i was told i had to wait 3-4 weeks. i was angry and said why since the dealership screwed me up but was told that is all they could do. i called the day before the appt and again verified i was covered for everything and they said yes. i got to the dealership and was waiting for my car when service asked me to sign the paperwork. i said i would not sign anything that was not filled in. he said it would be about 500-600 dollars and when i asked why he said my car was over 36,000 miles and out of coverage. i said i had 50,000 miles coverage plus the 100,000 and was told my car was not covered for 50,000. i got my car back and left totally disgusted. seems everything i was told was xx. about a month later my odometer hit 35,000 miles so so much for the warranty. i was also told that my final service was done when i got the car at 32,000 miles which the manager did. so much for certified cars. they never even changed the winshield wipers and i needed a new battery. although the people working there were very nice they could only do what they were allowed. i have sent 2 letters to the owners and never heard back. i spoke to the salesman and he was very sorry and i believe him. the manager took over the deal from the start. since the few months that have passed my wife who was looking at the big wagon has gotten a nissan. my son in law who like the s60 which i had got a bmw and my daughter who liked the smaller wagon also got a bmw. hassell lost out on over $100,000 plus because of this. still never heard back from the owners. i plan on taking this to consumers and bbb and seeing if i have any luck with the atty general. if i had at least heard back from the owners maybe something would have worked out. david miller ps sorry i went from capitol letters to small. Both Susan and Ron did the utmost to make us feel at home and spent a lot of time showing us vehicles and coming up with the best deal possible. I highly recommend this delearship! If the service department is as knowledgeable and friendly as the sales team then we have a real winner! Will definitely recommend Hassel Volvo to my friends and family! More
