I am always taken care of in a very polite and professional manner. There was one situation where a sales person was not acting properly and the head of sales took care of the situation very fast. I was impressed with the manner in which this was handled. Glassman is a very professional dealership and is a pleasure to work with them. I would recommend this dealership to anyone! More
Johnnie was a great sales person for our first experience at Glassman. He was honest, friendly and professional in all our interactions. A couple of things did bother us. 1) On the first day we saw the car at Glassman. He was honest, friendly and professional in all our interactions. A couple of things did bother us. 1) On the first day we saw the car it had not been inspected but was told it would be covered under a warranty. After the inspection, we were informed the car would not be covered as it was just over the time frame. This was disappointing and added more money to our purchase, (though Johnnie did make sure the car had new brakes & tires). 2) We told Johnnie when we would be in to pickup the car but it was not ready when we arrived so found ourselves waiting around for an hour. Other than the above, we are happy with our experience. More
It was the best price both then and since for a similarly equipped vehicle with the similar mileage. The salesman was Edward. The entire purchase process is completely automated on a tablet and it takes ca equipped vehicle with the similar mileage. The salesman was Edward. The entire purchase process is completely automated on a tablet and it takes care of purchase, plates, title, etc. so you need to sign once and select signature or initials. He followed up on my list of questions. I have no use for salesman who close in like vultures who have no respect for you thought I put into my questions and what I was looking for and somehow believe they can sell me what I am not looking for even after you tell them. In this case I was looking for a 2020 Equinox, the newest year I could get the 2.0T engine and 9-speed transmission. After that you can only get the 1.5T and 6-speed which is why I didn't buy new. When a salesman doesn't follow through and another does, I tell them the moment I arrive who I'm dealing with based on their track record otherwise I walk. I had been there the Saturday before and checked out the SUV. I had visited many dealerships and settled on this SUV because it was what I was looking for and everything about it, miles, price, color, etc. made sense. I called to tell him that I had settled on the car he showed me, but I had nobody willing to drive me from Grandville to Southffield through the high-speed, dodge-construction-barrel traffic to pick it up that day, and there were no schedules available either, so it would have to wait a few days. The date was Halloween, 10/31. The sales manager called me and asked, "Are you serious about buying the car?" I responded with, "As a heart attack." He said, "If you're serious, this is the last day of the month and I would like to push the sale into this month. I'll have the salesman pick you up. That's 132 miles one way! He brought me to the bank on the way. I learned on the way back how he got out of Russia. We had some fascinating conversations. I learned a lot about Glassman and how it is 3rd generation and the family is into the business and he ended up staying there because he could be transparent with people and was told, just tell it like it is. Other places he worked even larger where he would be scolded. I mentioned how it's amazing that they have such a huge showroom with the cars inside. He said when ToysRUs went out of business they recognized it as an opportunity for a large indoor showroom along with a large parking lot and snapped it up. Traffic was a whole different ball game than the Saturday when I in initially visited to see and test drive the SUV. Once you get into the Detroit traffic, 84 mph was the minimum to play dodge the construction barrels, gusting to 87 mph, with occasional peak gusts of 90 mph to just keep up with traffic. He said, "If you want to avoid this, return after 7 PM." There were other salesmen closing deals also. After we finished at 6:11 PM, Edward pointed to a Chick Fillet within viewing distance of the dealership where we ate until traffic was sane for our return trip. It looks to me that they have decided on a business model that is tilted more toward volume than price. I still cannot find as good of a deal as I got from them, and used car prices have been dropping by the week. The dealer in our area like Glassman was bought by someone else and they ruined it's good name. Normally, I wouldn't make it a point to check out any particular dealer, especially that far away, However, I get tapped a lot to find a good car for people due to my background. I will make it a point to check out Glassman because it might save me a lot of time getting them something good at a fair price. My time is very valuable as people who know me would attest. I wouldn't take the time to write something like this if they hadn't hit it out of the park, and that was BEFORE they picked me up. The person who will be driving the car came along. More
