This is definitely the worst car buying experience I have ever had. It started by searching for a car and finding one about 200 miles away from my home. I worked with Felicia and everything was great a ever had. It started by searching for a car and finding one about 200 miles away from my home. I worked with Felicia and everything was great at first. I mentioned my monthly payment that I needed to be at and they went to work. I got a call from Felicia saying 'Great news, we got you approved'. I tried to inquire about the terms and all I was told was that it would be discussed in Finance because she doesn't receive that information. I loaded up the car and drove to Houston. I was greeted and asked to wait for Felicia. We met and went on the test drive and I decided to move forward with the purchase. I then went into Finance and was told that the payment is over $120 more than what I told her I wanted to stay at. When I mentioned that they went to work to get the payment down. They finally got it to where it needed to be and we kept progressing. They were able to 'buy down' the interest rate which to me makes it seem like they submitted a higher interest rate initially to get a better return for themselves. We discussed the certified benefits which then went into what is covered. He mentioned that it has 'basic' coverage which is included in the monthly payment. Granted, with this being a 'certified' vehicle he made it sound that it just came with it. I discovered after I left that it definitely was not included and was an additional $3500. I mentioned to both the sales person as well as the guy in Finance that I wanted AcuraCare added later since it would extend the factory coverage but they went ahead and deceived me by adding a third party warranty which they knew I didn't want and didn't disclose the true cost, which is actually quite a bit more expensive than AcuraCare. Gillman Acura also adds a line item on the vehicle for tint, nitrogen in the tires and wheel locks for $995. Nitrogen and wheel locks cost no more than $150 and now lets discuss the window tint. They said they tint all the vehicles and that this fee is non-negotiable. When I was driving back to Austin I saw that there was a sticker under the tint that was placed there by another Acura dealership, John Eagle Acura. I called them and asked them what the fee was for again and they stated that they tint the car, put nitrogen in the tires and add wheel locks. I asked them if they were affiliated with John Eagle and was told no. When questioned why It had a sticker for John Eagle Acura under the tint they fell silent and then started to explain that it would then cover the tint for 10 years. With what they had to do on this car it cost them maybe $50 (at their cost) for a $995 charge to the consumer. That was ultimately removed in the end. Upon delivery of the vehicle, the second key turned up missing. I was told that the service department would order me a key and send it to my house. They also mentioned that I would have to take it to my local dealership to have it cut and programmed which I assume is another cost that I will have to pay for since they aren't associated with any dealership in Austin. Since the purchase, Marcos Martinez, the Business Manager at Gillman Acura reached out asking if I wanted to cancel the warranty. I replied back stating yes, that I did in fact want to cancel and also was questioning the whereabouts of the second key. I have had no response since then and have asked for an update twice. I have also asked for the GM and owners contact info since nothing is getting done at the dealership in regards to my requests. Like I mentioned in the beginning, I have never been lied to or deceived more than what I have during this purchase at Gillman Acura. They need to listen to the customer more and tailor the purchase around them and their requests instead of doing what is going to bring in the most money. In the long run it will do more good than the harm you are causing currently. More
