Disrespectful Service Went into this dealership today with my husband to hopefully purchase a new mustang on Military Appreciation Day. After sitting with Ricky Elliston fo Went into this dealership today with my husband to hopefully purchase a new mustang on Military Appreciation Day. After sitting with Ricky Elliston for almost two hours and working down the price, he finally got an “approval” on a price and shook our hands to “seal the deal” so to speak. We went outside to go check out our new mustang only for him to walk outside and tell us it was approved and then declined, which has never happened before. Hasn’t happened because it doesn’t happen. This guy did not even bother to contact an actual bank to get an approval. They wouldn’t just decline something they already approved. Makes no sense. We felt so incredibly disrespected at this place, wasting two hours of our time with these people for absolutely nothing. How you just shake on a deal with someone like they’re walking away with a new car is beside me. My husband was so disappointed and pissed off upon leaving this place, which is understandable given he put us under the impression we were approved and ready to go. Even shook on it and everything. I do NOT recommend this dealership whatsoever for any vehicle purchases. Nothing but liars. Oh well. Could’ve had a nice commission check, Ricky, but you blew it. - Kirsten Hudson More

Caused damage and didn't even apologize I've had an absolutely terrible experience with Gillespie Ford. I bought my car at Gurnee Ford (prior management) in 2012 and had a great experience t I've had an absolutely terrible experience with Gillespie Ford. I bought my car at Gurnee Ford (prior management) in 2012 and had a great experience then. However, under new management, the customer service is not up to par. I scheduled service for a specific reason and was told after 30 minutes that the repair they attempted was unsuccessful because I had a leak -- which was what I had originally told them when I scheduled the appointment and again when I arrived on site. They then proceeded to fix the leak. A few hours later, I had to get towed back to the dealership because they hadn't plugged in a part which caused my car to break down. Per consultation with another mechanic, I'm lucky that it broke in a parking lot and not on the highway as the part that was left unplugged can cause significant damage and danger when driving at high speeds. At the advice of my bank, I disputed the charges for the original service as it was not up to the service standard that was expected. And now I'm getting angry phone calls from the dealership telling me that I have no right to be angry or upset (or dispute the charge) because they ultimately fixed it. Yes - they fixed it AFTER they broke it and after several hours of my time following up. All I was looking for when the issue originally happened was an apology and some form of compensation for the time, stress, and danger that I was put in as a result of the original service and I would have been a happy customer. Instead, I get told that I am wrong and they they did me a favor by 'fixing' their mistake for free. More
