I was called by one of the sales people at Gillespie Ford named Lee. He told me that a Ford Maverick was in stock. He also told me that the MSRP window sticker price was $24,000. I made an almost 2 hour driv named Lee. He told me that a Ford Maverick was in stock. He also told me that the MSRP window sticker price was $24,000. I made an almost 2 hour drive into the shop the very next morning only to find that this dealership was marking this truck up an extra $10,000. The truck only retails for $20,000 but yet they wanted to mark it up an extra $10,000. That is price gouging. I have reported this dealer to Ford motor company because that is ridiculous. I will also be reporting them to the state of Illinois for false advertisement sending me the price of the vehicle and then raising the price $10,000.They think nothing of their customers to do a bait and switch like that and have someone drive that far only to try and steal an extra $10,000 from them. They would never get my business. Beware of this dealership and it's unethical practices. More

Although the supply of new and used cars are at an all time low. The dealers were able to help my son find his first car. They made us a positive experience. I would recommend to anyone looking for a car. time low. The dealers were able to help my son find his first car. They made us a positive experience. I would recommend to anyone looking for a car. I ordered my Maverick in July, followed it through the whole process, waited for the delivery, and I was told late Saturday I could pick it up between one and nine on Monday which is today. I read the rev whole process, waited for the delivery, and I was told late Saturday I could pick it up between one and nine on Monday which is today. I read the reviews, so I’m not surprised they sold it to someone else early this afternoon. I questioned their MSRP of $26,815.00 when the sticker said $24,315.00. Do yourself a favor and not take a chance with Gillespie Ford of Gurnee. They lie, deceive, and give Ford dealerships a bad name. More
I am updating a review I already posted. I want to start with saying that Chris in finance is great, definitely went above and beyond. However I would never recommend to anyone to purchase a car from here. with saying that Chris in finance is great, definitely went above and beyond. However I would never recommend to anyone to purchase a car from here. I have had nothing but problem after problem. After having to have my windshield replaced because of a giant scratch across the entire window from bad wipers, now I am being told I have to replace my rear window because the rear defogger tabs are broken off the window. Did I mention that they “fixed” this before I purchased the car, however the GM dealership said they cannot be fixed, the whole window has to be replaced and that is why their repair did not last more than 2 months. So every time I use my remote start my alarm goes off because it thinks my glass is broke, so that’s fun!! And don’t be fooled by the crap warranties they sell either, I purchased the best warranty they offer and apparently it’s not covered. Go figure. They must not even inspect their vehicles, and certainly do t fair to sell someone something that has been properly fixed before they leave the lot with it. Worst purchase ever. Buyer beware More

My daughter and I bought two used cars from them in one day $50,000 total, Pricing is high. Some issues noticed after driving off the lot: paint chipping. I probably would have been happy if they would day $50,000 total, Pricing is high. Some issues noticed after driving off the lot: paint chipping. I probably would have been happy if they would have ordered some touch up paint ($15) for me -of course when I asked about it I was out of luck. Horn didn't work. I was promised a license plate frame, was never ordered. So basically after signing the papers you are SOL. The car I purchased was not a Ford. I bought an extended warranty through them. The plan they sell has a "tie back" meaning that you cannot take it anywhere but Gillespe for service unless you are more than 25 mikes away. Unfortunately this is common practice and Gillespe will not make exceptions because they want the service money. If you are not buying a Ford, I highly suggest you buy an extended warranty somewhere else. Would I recommend Gillespe? Probably not but then again probably not any worse than any other used car dealer. Just make sure you know the value of the car you are buying (go check pricing in the waiting area or outside on your phone before signing anything), look the vehicle over VERY carefully inside and out, and check every function. Take a clip board with a list of things to check. On the plus side, I did get a good loan rate. More

The worst dealer ever! I would give out zero star! I had a car accident recently and my car was totaled. I was looking for used car and found a used car (2007 Honda Pilot) from Gillespie Ford. The sales per a car accident recently and my car was totaled. I was looking for used car and found a used car (2007 Honda Pilot) from Gillespie Ford. The sales person who sold us that car told us the car has clean report and no mechanical problems. We also questioned why the car has engine light on, and he told us it’s just the indicator isn’t right, the mechanic team just finished the checkup on the car and no issues. So we made the purchase. In 3 weeks, we received a letter from DMV requesting emission test. The emissions test failed. So we took it to the body shop, and the repair estimate is $1845 in order to pass the emissions test. On top of it, the body shop told us the car’s engine has problems and requesting $200 for engine checkup fee. We don’t want to spend extra money on such an old car, but without passing emission test, we can’t get the license plate and registration thus can’t use the car. I called the sales office many times, the sales team refused to handle it. Now we got stuck with a piece of junk!!! More
