We went in to look at used trucks and ended up buying a new one. We have bought numerous vehicles from this dealership, under prior owners. They have always treated us well. Jim Hamby exempified these characteristics. He showed us a used truck, then suggested we look at a new one, as he could offer us a great deal on it. As it turned out he was honest about that and very understanding of our current financial situation. The sales manager was also very helpful and professional and made it a pleasure to sign the paperwork. We will definitely return to this dealrship in the future! I love Dodge. My 1st car was a '72 Dodge charger that I got as a present from my parents in 1986 when I turned 18. They had purchased it new back in '72 and it had served our family well from pulling our got as a present from my parents in 1986 when I turned 18. They had purchased it new back in '72 and it had served our family well from pulling our camping trailer, driving our family cross country and up and down the east coast, and being my dad's daily driver. And that thing still ran really well when I sold it in 1990 with around 180,000 miles on it. Consequently, I wish I still had it. And my family has always had good luck with Dodges being quality vehicles from the Charger to a couple of my parents Ram pickups to a Neon I had. My mom absolutely swears by Dodge. But I wanted my own Ram truck. So twice before (years apart), I tried to buy Dodge trucks but due to the treatment I received from the salesmen, I walked angrily out of those dealerships without purchasing. And on both occasions found better treatment from salesmen at Ford and Chevrolet and ended up buying from them as a result. Because of that treatment, I swore off Dodge trucks for what would turn out to be a little more than 20 years. I recently decided to buy a new truck and had placed an internet finance inquiry to a couple of Chevy dealers as the Chevy trucks I had were also excellent vehicles. Unfortunately for them, I suppose, they did not respond. Three weeks later I decided to try them again but thought that maybe I should give Dodge another chance as I still really wanted a Dodge Ram truck. With little hope for good treatment and against my better judgement, I looked on the Dodge website for a dealership nearby and 2 were listed. The Fresno dealer had a bigger truck inventory but the Madera site had Jim's picture and a description of how he was tired the usual car buying games and how he was going to make the whole process easy and pleasant (my kind of salesman). This I had to see and his photo being there along with basically a dare to put him to the test just seemed friendlier and more welcoming to me. Not only that, but I saw THE TRUCK I wanted and just had to have. It was a different color than usual, Rugged Brown, and had just about all of the bells and whistles I wanted. So, I filled out the internet financial inquiry and, with a deep breath, pushed send. I also decided to send another inquiry to the Chevy people and right after I pushed Send on their inquiry, my phone rang. This was no more than maybe 7 minutes after I sent in the Dodge inquiry. It was Jim. He was very friendly and asked me for more information and told me he would get back to me after he found out if he could make things work for me. To my amazement, he actually did call back a very short time later. He assured me that he could make things work and we set up a time for me to come by the next day. I arrived there early to look through the other trucks to make sure the Rugged Brown beauty I saw online was really the one I wanted. Even though I had arrived there early, Jim Hamby was actually the salesman that greeted me. He was very friendly and warm and welcoming. I told him that I was apprehensive because of the previous treatment I received from Dodge salesmen and that I didn't hold much hope. He assured me that he would make the whole process as quick and painless as he possibly could. I thought, "Yeah, sure!" But I told him what I needed the payments to be and while he went into the office to find out what range the purchase price had to be in order to accomplish that, I looked at a few trucks and then came to the Rugged Brown truck I had seen online. Rugged Brown looks very nice on the website but I have to tell you that it is absolutely stunning in person. When Jim came back, he asked me if that was the truck I liked or if I had just stopped there momentarily. All I had to say was that I really liked that color. He got the keys and made sure the payments would work out in my range and then we took it on a test-drive. I liked the Dodge trucks that I had test driven 20 years before but I have to say that the truck has greatly improved since then. The handling and power and comfort of the seating and general interior appearance seemed wonderfully upgraded from years ago. Not to mention the exterior design. And finally a non-conventional, non-run-of-the-mill color to choose from. Jim thoroughly explained all the little doodads, and how the bells rang and the whistles blew so to speak. Then we went back to the dealership to start the paperwork. After we got that going I asked about a trailer hitch for the truck as I needed one in case of emergency. I have horses and need to be able to evacuate them from the property in case of fire or whatnot. So he immediately got on that and was able to arrange for the hitch to be put on the truck right there and then so I wouldn't have to make the 30 mile drive back at a later date. He also got me a fair price on my trade-in and thoroughly explained what I was signing. I have to say that Jim Hamby has single-handidly restored my trust in Dodge dealers. I will definitely recommend any friends of mine looking for any vehicle to talk to him as I feel that he would get them a good deal and treat them well. I have no doubt that they would walk away just as elated as I did. I will definitely seek him out when I am ready to purchase a new vehicle. By the way, have I told you what an awesome color Rugged Brown is? I have had several compliments on the color and some of them were from complete strangers. More

When the final numbers were still out of my price range, Jim presented viable options that closed the deal without pressuring me into a corner. Jim was warm and friendly, but always professional, but not in a stereotypical "eye-on-the-prize, closing-on-target" way that intimidates customers. He worked with me to narrow down the options, and to purchase my vehicle of choice. I would wholeheartedly recommend Madera Chrysler Dodge Jeep, as long as the dealer was someone as personable and as professional as Jim Hamby. More
