Brought my truck in for oil change, lube and to address a recall on the seat belts. Went back to Deluca Toyota to trade in my 14 yr old Ford. Needed a "safe" vehicle to take on the road to go to series of Dr appointments in Gainesville for cancer treatment. Salesman called me back and said he had a vehicle that would suit. 2005 Rav4 with lower mileage seemed to be a good deal. Brought the vehicle home and my mechanic gave me a list of problems: bad brakes, bad battery, deteriorated serpentine belt... My loan company refused to release the funds unless these problems were fixed. Had to fight with the dealership to get repairs since I negotiated price down and had to buy the vehicle "as is". I'm an idiot because I thought the dealership had to have done at least an initial inspection and that they would NEVER have sold me a vehicle they claimed was "safe" but had bad brakes etc. After negotiating again, the repairs were done. One week later, my check engine light and two other trouble lights came on. Went back to the dealership and they did a quick check. Told me it would cost another $200 just to do a "smoke test" to find the problem that was in the emissions system. Now, I am scared to take the car on the road because it seems that Deluca did not sell me a "safe" vehicle. Because of cancer treatments my income is sadly depleted and I don't have the money or the time to try and find out what kind of mess I purchased. I now worry that I will break down on the highway. This was my second experience with Deluca Toyota, the first went well. Because I now believe I was taken advantage of I will never do business with this company again. More
