John and Bryan were great to deal with. No shenanigans whatsoever. Very straightforward and honest. Rare when purchasing used vehicles. I would recommend this dealer to anyone. Very frustrated. Dealt with gettel nissan service in the past and service was stellar there. This is the second time I've had a problem with service at gettel hyundai on bee ridge. Makes me wonder about manage. More

I brought my Kona in for service in July 2023 as the AC had suddenly begun blowing hot air intermittently. I was told it needed a new compressor. Between the fees for the rental car on days I had to leav had suddenly begun blowing hot air intermittently. I was told it needed a new compressor. Between the fees for the rental car on days I had to leave it and the work, the bill was over $1800. This car had less than 48k miles on it. Five minutes after I left the shop, the AC began blowing hot air again. It was near closing time for the dealership so I decided to take it back on Monday. The next week I took it back and was told now it needed a temperature sensor (to the tune of another $1200.) If the compressor coil was broken, why did replacing the compressor not fix the hot air issue? I requested to speak with the manager and was directed to the service manager and I requested a discount since the problem was obviously misdiagnosed. (I spoke with several trusted mechanics who stated this.) The service manager said he could offer a discount of not charging me to recharge the system, a fee of abount $300. Then I was directed back to the service person who argued with me that the $300 had already been included in the $1208 she had quoted before I spoke with the service manager. When I asked to speak with the GM, I was told he was not available. The car has continued to blow hot air alternating with very cold air. I had it looked at by another dealer who stated they would basically be calling the Hyundai tech line again, which would result in the same quote. I didn't leave my car there. Apparently many shops cannot work on 2018 Kona due to a different AC system, so I've felt very stuck! I've talked with many shops. I will be going up the line to speak with the dealership management and higher if necessary. A car with so few miles should not cost now more than $3k in diagnoses and repairs on the AC system and it certainly should have been properly repaired if the mechanic even spoke with the Hyundai tech line. There's more to this story, like never being offered a courtesy until the very end when I requested it. Instead I paid several hundred dollars in rental fees while the service department kept my car there waiting on parts, telling me that I couldn't take the car and then bring it back because it was apart in the shop. I've consulted with mechanics and many friends and all have agreed that this was wrong. For those reading this, please know that this car has been incredible up until this point, needing no repairs. It's a comfortable, though quite small, crossover SUV and fits me perfectly. The Sarasota dealership even called and offered to buy the car from me (while the car was in the shop) and I refused. I love this car but am now furious to have to go through this disappointing event. More
