Rather than write about the dealership I'd like to write about my personal experience. Buying a car was the most stressful event I've experienced in a long time. Do NOT go to Gettel Hyundai ! !Recently my 2014 Hyundai Sonata had an oil leak which was found to be due to the oil sensor switch. Brought it to Gettel to check if it was under war !Recently my 2014 Hyundai Sonata had an oil leak which was found to be due to the oil sensor switch. Brought it to Gettel to check if it was under warranty or recall. I asked Melanie to check, and she said it was under the mileage but not under the year. She presented me with an estimate of $333.50 and had Clarence ,the mechanic, explain what he had found when checking for the oil leak, and both insisted I have it fixed right away ,"before the oil got into other parts of the engine, like the guy yesterday who had to pay $1700!". I told her that that amount was too high and asked if that was the best they could do....She insisted I should get it done, so I brought it in the next morning, and Clarence completed the job in the 30 mins it took me to get to work in Venice!! So after talking to several mechanics, and telling them my ordeal and the price Gettel was charging," To Replace an Oil Pressure Switch" and spray clean the engine, I realized they were taking advantage of a woman in despair! I asked to speak to the Manager,Charlie, and was told by Gwen that he had left for the day and that she needed payment to release the car .I wrote a check which she attached to my statement copy, and said she would put it on his desk and have him call me. Charlie called and left a voicemail. I returned his call and said I wanted to speak to him in person. I took off work early to meet him as he "leaves at 4", obviously not concerned to accommodate me. I met with Charlie, and he told me the check was already sent to accounting, and he reviewed my service on the computer, ( despite having the copy in front of him), and then said, "they charged you an hour and a half, and did not charge for the diagnostics." He refused to adjust my charges despite my reminder that I have bought several cars and have been a loyal customer for 18 years. As a result of this insult , I will no longer support or promote Gettel Hyundai Dealership. They take advantage of women and overcharge for their services. Beware and Run!! More
My wife and I decided we wanted to purchase a Hyundai Palisade after riding in a friend's car in Oregon. We started searching for a dealership near our home where we could purchase the Palisade. We were not impressed with the local dealership and decided to look in Sarasota. I called Gettel Hyundai and spoke with Gloria. She was So Wonderful on the phone we immediately decided we would make our purchase there. We set up an appointment for the following day. Our sales person Alina Velsh was as welcoming and gracious as Gloria and put our minds to rest. There was no pressure and the whole process was very pleasant. Alina spent 40 or more minutes after the dealership closed to setup the Bluetooth system and help my wife become comfortable with all the Palisade features. Alina provided so much more than customer service we really felt cared for. More
