I th Buying a new car can be a nightmare. This was a very pleasant experience. Not high pressure at all. All my questions were answered about the car. I thanked them and advised I would make up my mind in 24 hours. I left the dealership. I was undecided between two cars; One being the Santa Fe, and another being a Volvo. The deciding factor, was my husband has had 3 Hyundai's all Azeras. He loves everything about the car as well as the service he receives at Palm Hyundai. More

A straight-forward, no-nonsense transaction Palm Hyundai's Steve Lutz is a true professional. Buying or leasing a new car is a major investment. For most people it's second only to purchasing a Palm Hyundai's Steve Lutz is a true professional. Buying or leasing a new car is a major investment. For most people it's second only to purchasing a home. It's something Steve understands. And that's how it was handled. Every cost and every credit was itemized and explained, not in scripted dealer double speak, but in plain English. Lease origination fee? Document preparation fee? Dealer fee? It's profit. It pays the bills. An auto dealership is entitled to make money from a sale. Unfortunately, too many dealerships pressure their sales people to play fast and loose with the numbers. It becomes a shell game. And you're the pea. Repeatedly spin the customer around and hope nobody notices. It's a game Steve doesn't attempt to play. The goal is a "clean" transaction. Here's what the car costs. Here's your trade allowance. And here's how we got there. Here's what we promise to do. Here's what you promise to do. Sold. Sort of how it should always be. Unfortunately, it often isn't. It's important that a salesperson knows their product. Steve clearly knows his product. You won't be handed the keys to this technology and rushed out the door. When you take delivery from Steve, come prepared to listen and learn. And you might also want to pack a lunch. Steve's spent years in the business. His knowledge and experience are respected and trusted by management. As a result, he's as close as it gets to a free agent in that showroom. Forget all those repeated trips back and forth to the sales manager's office. If the deal's fair, and there's a little meat left on the bone, it's likely going to be rubber stamped. Steve knows what will fly and what won't. Again, no games. You're there to buy a car. You're not there to be taken to a dance. You want to know what you're spending and what you're getting. And, especially on a lease, you want to know why. A typical car dealership slickster will endlessly bob and weave. Steve has a better idea. He tells you and he shows you. He wants the sale, of course. But he also wants your next sale. And the one after that. Repeat customers are the bread and butter of the retail auto trade. A here today, gone tomorrow guy isn't looking to the future. Steve is. He has every motivation to treat you fairly. Odds are he'll still be there when the lease is up or it's time to trade. He knows there are lots of dealership doors you can choose to walk through. So when the time comes, he wants that door to be his. And, more likely than not, he's going to be the guy who opens it for you. Make no mistake. A car dealership isn't your BFF. It exists to sell cars and make money. But a good dealer (and a good salesman) understands that treating the customer fairly is good business that generates that all-important repeat business. Forget those gimmick cruise giveaways, the free houses, the impossible $99 leases, the big screen TV's and all those other "HUGE" come-on's. Want a TV? Go to Best Buy. Want a car? It's simple. Go to Palm, ask for Steve and tell him to sell you a lifetime's worth of cars. And no, we're not related. More
