My husband talked with several women about one particular vehicle we wanted. Was told putting money down to hold it wasn't necessary, drove the 2 1/2 hours to get there only to find that it had been sold earlier. The actual people in the dealership knew nothing about our interest! Internet people who are in another location, didn't alert them or they were lying. Do not waste your time. So glad we didn't buy from them! More
Bait and Switch LIARS If you enjoy being jerked around, flat out lied to, and being told you have a deal one day only to be told the very next that because you want to pay If you enjoy being jerked around, flat out lied to, and being told you have a deal one day only to be told the very next that because you want to pay cash the vehicle you thought you were there to buy is suddenly 3K more "because you want to pay cash, rather than use one of their KICK BACK FINANCE COMPANIES " then by all means go and get taken to the cleaners by these lying jerks. The management encourages deception on the part of the salesperson, and the salespersons are experts at the trade. Me personally, I will never step foot into any Brand Dealership that bears the name Gettel. What I did do instead is drive from Port Charlotte to Venice to do business and purchase from a very reputable and trustworthy dealership Starling Buick Gmc. They Don't Lie, you pay what they quote, and they want your business, not the kick backs from their finance companies. My final word on all things Gettel is buyer beware. This is just One humble opinion from a retired Soldier after serving 35 years in the US Army and having to retire after becoming 100% permanently and totally disabled. "That meant nothing to the Gettel team either." VR Michael A. Foy (CSM US ARMY RET) More

Scratched my car and NO APOLOGY!! This dealership has lousy management. I took my new car in for three items: a recall; warranty replacement of defective trim and scheduled service. Th This dealership has lousy management. I took my new car in for three items: a recall; warranty replacement of defective trim and scheduled service. They only did one of the recalls and forgot to do the service. So I left it another day. When I picked it up the second recall was still not done, they did the scheduled service. When I reached for the car door handle there was a big white scratch on my red handle. So back again to the service desk. The service agent said it was no big and said they could buff it out. So they took it back to the shop and said it would take ten minutes. A half our later they returned and said they needed to repaint the handle and that they would call me in a couple days to schedule. NO APOLOGY. Just blah mediocre “service”. There really is no service at Gettel. Just mediocre dull attitude. Management is responsible for everything. Obviously Gettel has lousy management to allow this level of mundane unintelligent mediocrity. More
Good experience buying Ram Truck Our experience with Gettel Ram dealership was exceptional. We went in with specific options that we wanted on our future Ram 2500 truck. Our sales ass Our experience with Gettel Ram dealership was exceptional. We went in with specific options that we wanted on our future Ram 2500 truck. Our sales associate, Wiley Wright, did not try to sell me another similar vehicle, but searched out and found the exact truck and equipment that I had on my list. Kevin Kasey, the general sales manager, also was involved from the very beginning keeping us informed on the status of our purchase. On the day we picked up our new Ram 2500, sales associate Jim Freeman, spent a great deal of time goin over all the ram features and operations. He made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Overall the sales team was very friendly, helpful, and wanted to make sure you are happy with your new vehicle purchase. Ron More

Late last month (August), we found a pre-owned Mercedes-Benz Metris online at this dealership - a vehicle model that we had been looking for. We made an appointment to go see it at 5:30 pm. We drove 45 minutes to our appointment, and then waited another half-hour for someone to sit down with us. They couldn't find the vehicle - another 30 minutes. Once they did we were told it was new on the lot and in service therefore we couldn't drive it until they opened the next morning. We were allowed to see it, but not drive it! We agreed to buy it contingent on the test drive. The finance person, was "friendly" enough to us, but was rude to our salesman, and we began to feel uncomfortable. The next morning we arrived at the dealer, drove the car, and finalized the purchase. During the final finance arrangements, we had unanswered questions about interest rates and monthly payments. When we asked, the answers were vague. However, it was our fault for not being more aggressive about getting straight answers. Our final agreement was contingent on the dealership providing us with an second key (the van only came with one) and a trailer hitch. We were going to be out of town for the next couple of weeks, therefore we agreed to leave the van at the dealership and they were to have it ready upon our return. Upon our return, we called to pick up the van. They had done NOTHING – the van was not ready – no hitch, no key. My husband then emailed or texted someone at the dealership each day. The service department was confused on the matter but DID return texts and talked with us as they tried to figure out what was going on. Our Salesman never emailed or talked with us about the rectifying situation though he was sent emails and texts with regularity. It was the Service Department that finally put us in touch with a Sales Manager, and we agreed to meet with him. He said that the salesman was new and probably just “forgot” about the deal. We know that he could not have forgotten, because we emailed or texted him more than once. During our time with the salesman he mentioned that he was trying to reach a goal of selling XX number of vehicles. We understand and applaud that ambition, but he should NEVER just drop a deal and not communicate with the buyers, once that sale has been made. If he was new, then his trainers failed him. Where was the customer service? At the meeting with the Sales Manager we were compensated for the extra key that we had to order and get for ourselves. He was very pleasant and apologized. Regardless of that apology, I will never buy another vehicle from a Gettels. All in all, it took 27 days before we got the vehicle and an extra three days for us to order and get the second key. The lack of communication between departments, and the terrible customer service from Sales are deplorable. More
