Let me preface this review by saying that I have worked in the sales department of car dealerships for over 26 years as a General Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Finance Director, Finance Manger and a Salesm in the sales department of car dealerships for over 26 years as a General Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Finance Director, Finance Manger and a Salesman. I started in 1994 with the Saturn brand. My last 8 years was at a CDJR store back where I am from in WV and am very familiar with CDJR dealership operations. As a sales professional, my salesman Jim Freeman was absolutely amazing and did a great job, no complaints. He followed the sales process and worked his managers with the goal of moving a unit to help hit his bonus. Jin would be someone I would trust to sell me another vehicle if he would happen to move to another automotive group. The deal I was given was fair. Now the bad - The dealer applied for a rebate that they were not entitled to and Chrysler rejected it. Due to that error on their part they now want to hold a $1000 rebate that I was entitled to and we agreed that I would be paid for in the form of a check once the deal was funded. I also have a "we owe" that states this fact at the time of signing of my deal. Long story short, the sales manager failed to do his job and verity the rebates I qualified for before applying them to my deal. He just assumed I qualified for a Conquest rebate. This literally takes 30 seconds to do in the dealer portal called “Dealer Connect”. Now the dealer want to hold my rebate that I did qualify for to cover up for their mistake. They even said to me that they indeed made an error by not verifying the rebate prior to applying it to my deal. We all make mistakes, they admitted it, but they don't want to do the right thing. This human error (laziness) caused the dealer to lose $1250 and wants to make it up by holding my rebate that was indeed valid and I’m entitled to. It took about 30 minutes and 2 phone calls to Stellantis and after an explination they agreed that the dealer was wrong to hold my rebate, and they will be writing me a check to make it right. They also will be charging the dealer back for that rebate, which they should. The sales Manager Josh Davis would not listen to my concerns, dismissed me and would also not allow me to talk with Bill who is the General Manager. He was rude, unprofessional in our phone conversations and condescending. It's just sad, and as 26+ dealership professional that always believes in doing the right thing, that their are still dealerships that chose to do business this way. With that being said, I have spent $171,000 in 5 months on 2 vehicles and I love CDJR vehicles. Unfortunately, I can not do business anymore with Gettel Automotive Group due to their lack of professionalism in their management staff and the fact that I am still waiting on a call from Bill the General Manager to discuss the issue at hand. Chances are I probably will not hear from him. At the end of the day they lost $1250 due to their error, $1000 on incentives and a customer. More
