To whom it may concern: Our recent visit for service To whom it may concern: Our recent visit for service on our 2011 Toyota Tundra Platinum Crew Cab, (by the way, this is our 5th Toyota vehicle), To whom it may concern: Our recent visit for service on our 2011 Toyota Tundra Platinum Crew Cab, (by the way, this is our 5th Toyota vehicle), we give an excellent rating due to the service departments - both in the State of Texas, where our truck was purchased, and in our arriving here, we checked out the rating of the local Toyota dealerships and found yours to be the top rated. After taking our truck there, we found that rating to be true because of the friendly way we were treated and the way the service department took care of our truck. You have some fine people working at your facility. And yes, we will return for scheduled service work.........most assuredly when we decide to purchase a new truck. We are now residents of Ohio. Mark Pastre was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The service center in Texas that told me about the leaking tensioners scared me and also gave me a long list of other things my car needed. I didn't have service center in Texas that told me about the leaking tensioners scared me and also gave me a long list of other things my car needed. I didn't have time to get it fixed before I had to get on the road and I figured I'd call Toyota to check it out when I got to Colulmbus. I am so glad I got Mark on the phone when I called the dealership for service. He clearly explained the potential problems and various solutions depending on what the exact problem was over the phone. I got personal service from Mark when I arrived at the dealership, and a phone call from him when they determined the exact problem. The list of other potential service needed was short and reasonable--not at all like the service center in Texas. Mark got my total service done in less than 3 hours for under $400---which included several other items in addition to the leaking tensioner. Great experience with Mark and Germain Toyota! More
I have a 2003 Camry XLE with less than 80,000 miles in great condition. I took it in because the heat was not working properly I had to turn it to max hot for some heat. I was told the thermostat needed t great condition. I took it in because the heat was not working properly I had to turn it to max hot for some heat. I was told the thermostat needed to be replaced along with other things that could wait for later including a cabin air filter that I replaced myself. I then was told the car had to cool down so it took some time so they gave me a loaner and I returned around 1:45 pm and they had not started on my car. Later when I went back the car was ready so I paid my bill which was $368.39 and the parts was only $58.85 you do the math. When I started my car up and let it run before I left there was still no heat, I told the advisor and he told me to drive it around, I am not stupid they did nothing to my car. I left it there all weekend went there on Monday and he told me they found the problem and I said you told me that on Friday ( 11/16 thru 11/19/2012) he said it needed a heater assembly and they had too order the part. Took my car back on 11/28/2012 and I was told it would take about one hour, well after time passed I was told they had to order another part I was given a loaner car again and never heard from them again that day. I called the next day about 2pm and iwas told it would be 1-2 hours I got a call saying we want to make sure we get it back together right, never heard from them that day. I was really fed up. I went there on Friday my car was waiting. I started it up only luke warm air not hot. I asked him what he done and if he put the assembly in he said we found that was not the problem the thermostat was defected. I can't understand if you had the dash board off why not put in the part. I truly don't think the took the dashboard off and they put the outside senson in as if they were doing me a favor when I know it has nothing to do with the inside heat. I have been coming to Germain since 1995 and that car is still on the road. I felt i was treated like I knew nothing which is far from the truth. I have never had this problem before. I love my Camry and would buy another one in a heartbeat. I take pride in keeping my car in good shape and all Toyota and you have the records to prove it and so do I. My car is still not heating properly. Update, I was contacted by Todd Shook on 12/3/12 and we discussed the problem. We settled the problem and he was very nice and understanding. I will continue to go to Germain because they have done a great job over the years on my cars. More

Do not use Germain Service Dept. Cannot be trusted. I believe they did unnecessary work on my car. Brought my 2007 Prius in becuase it had died on road and i had to tow to neasest dealer. They said it believe they did unnecessary work on my car. Brought my 2007 Prius in becuase it had died on road and i had to tow to neasest dealer. They said it was my air flow sensor. Charged me $179 for part which is about 25% more than elsewhere but what really makes me mad, is they charged $209 for installation. The part literally takes no more than 5 minutes to changed. Literally - check it out on you tube: just search on prius air flow sensor - I'd post the link but it's not allowed - 2 screws is all that really needs to be removed. I checked it out when I got my car back and it is the easiest part I ever removed in a car taking not even 2 minutes. To me it shows Germain Toyota is not customer oriented and only wants to get as much money as they can from you. I recommend driving an extra 15 miles and going to River Valley Toyota for service where I've had excellent trustworthy and honest service in the past. While there they said I needed plugs, throttle body cleaning, rear wiper, waterpump - tried to scare me by saying car would run rough if i didn't have the throttle body cleaned ($94 are they joking)- they were basically trying to take me for as much as they could get - it added up to more than a thousand. Unbelievable. How do you spell Germain Toyota - R I P O F F - RIPOFF. After researching the problem more, I don't believe the part needed changing at all. If you read up on it the fix for air flow is to first try cleaning it becuase it often gets dirt on it that blocks the sensor. Before this happened I had stopped at the auto parts and checked the air filter before I replaced it. That probably caused dirt to drop onto sensor so cleaning probably would have corrected the problem. But i believe they were just looking to make some money. Checking the web, the air flow normally results in a warning light, but does not stop the car from running which was the problem i brought it in for. I really don't think this was tghe problem at all. I feel tgotalky ripped off. BTW - they did not return the used part so I willnever know for sure. More
I recently needed to have my RAV4 serviced due to an electrical issue. The part needed was (and is still at the time of this review) on back order. My Service Advisor, Jim McClarren, put me in a Toyota electrical issue. The part needed was (and is still at the time of this review) on back order. My Service Advisor, Jim McClarren, put me in a Toyota rental vehicle that I've now been using for a month without hesitation. Germain was recognized that the problem was not going to be immediately resolved and have done their best to accomodate me in the meantime. I obviously wish Toyota could supply the part in a quicker fashion, but I appreciate that the Germain dealership has done everything possible to assist me in the meantime. Thank you Jim and Germain! Previously, I had taken it to River Valley Toyota in Lancaster, thinking that it is sometimes easier to work with smaller dealerships, I was WRONG! Last spring, River Valley Toyota had replaced one of the two straps on the gas tank and asked me to bring in back sometime when the other strap was in stock. I had mentioned to them that I had significant rust on my driveway and they dismissed it as, "just a common problem with the Tundra's during those years", and that there was nothing that could be done. I still haven't received the call to let me know that the other strap is in, a year later! My 18-year-old daughter has been driving the truck to college for the past several years. I have been worried about the amount of rust that continually would fall from the frame. I had purchased some cans of undercoating and sprayed the underneath this winter trying to prevent more damage. Several weeks ago, I received another recall requesting that I take the truck for further inspection to an authorized dealership. I decided to take it back to Germain, where I have purchased several Toyota's and have always been pleased with their service. I spoke with Jim McClaren, and he had one of his technicians, Ron, look it over. Jim and Ron could not have been friendlier or more helpful! They told me that there was SIGNIFICANT damage to the frame, which I assumed from the chunks of metal on my drive and rust stains. They told me that it was totally unsafe to drive and that they would provide me with a loaner car. They told me that the rust was so significant that they were afraid to put it up on the rack! I am very grateful to Jim and Ron for their help and honesty! Jim called me to come in to see the progress. Ron had the vehicle apart and was putting the pieces together back on the new frame. I also decided to replace some things that needed to be replaced and to basically have a new truck with only 200,000 miles. There was no pressure to replace anything, but I did ask them for their opinions. I would not hesitate to return to Germain for any work that needed to be done. I appreciate being treated like a valuable customer, and will definitely tell my friends and family! I also had Craig Ferguson, GM at Germain, speak to my students in high school about hiring quality individuals like Jim and Ron. Sincerely, Gary Barstow More
