The job took about 3 hours, so the dealer provided a shuttle to take me home and bring me back. The service advisor gave me a good explanation of the work that was done and what other maintenance might be needed in the next year or so. More
Not 100% satisfied with the multi-point inspection I went in for a scheduled oil change and it went well. However, when I left the dealership I tried to clean off my windshield and no fluid came out. I I went in for a scheduled oil change and it went well. However, when I left the dealership I tried to clean off my windshield and no fluid came out. It hadn't worked for a few days prior to the oil change, so I thought I was out of fluid and that they would top it off at the dealership. My first thought was that they forgot to refill the fluid, but the printed out inspection report showed that they topped off the fluid and tested it. I stopped in a parking lot, popped the hood, and noticed that wiper fluid was pouring from the fabric cover on the underside of the hood. I opened it up and saw that something had chewed through the wiper fluid tube and that the line was completely severed. I drove back to the dealership to see if they could fix it and to see how much it would cost. I was told that it could be as cheap as $70, but probably over $100 to fix the tube. I know from experience that the tubes are super cheap at any auto-parts store. I ended up stopping at one on the way home, spending $4.88 for 6' of tube, and I fixed it myself in the garage at home. My main concern is that they should have noticed that the wiper fluid wasn't working during the inspection, which leads me to believe that they just checked off boxes without actually inspecting things. Also, and it's not the service tech's fault, but charging people $100+ for a $5 length of hose and a few minutes of labor is a huge rip-off and really changes my opinion of the dealership. More
