An overall good experience getting a new Honda I recently leased a new Accord from Germain Honda of Ann Arbor and was very pleased with the overall experience I had. Jonathan was my sales associat I recently leased a new Accord from Germain Honda of Ann Arbor and was very pleased with the overall experience I had. Jonathan was my sales associate and was one of the best salesmen I have had the pleasure of working with at any car dealer. He was very patient and listened to your needs but also had just the right vehicle in mind. When I was hesitant he was able to answer any questions and doubts I had and I am more than satisfied with my purchase. The sale was no pressure and even though the dealer would like you to close on the spot if you were not ready it was never a problem. The dealer was more than generous when it came to down payment and including everything in the price. All taxes, extras, fees, and even the first month payment was rolled into the down payment which was a great help and no hidden fees at the end. Clifton was the finance side and this is where two stars gets taken away for price. The vehicle price and monthly payment was fine however Honda stopped their allotment of three incidents worth 500 dollars each when turning a lease back in. You now have to purchase this protection yourself on the spot either take it or leave it and pay for any dings, bumps, scrape, scratches, chips, etc when you turn the car in. The package was around $600-900 dollars up front which is a little ridiculous. We were led to believe that the down payment would be it at close, it turns out Honda wants to sell you three packages (two car warranty/repair related and one fraud/identity theft protection) which can cost up to an extra $2,000. I had to pay $500 more in a down payment that I was not expecting to pay. This deals more with Honda Corp than the dealer but it is something to consider and may lead to looking elsewhere with my next car. Besides those minor gripes Germain Honda is a great dealer in the area and the very friendly staff and having them treat you like a person instead of a sale is great and refreshing. Overall a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a Honda or just a better sale experience. More
