When I went to the dealership and met Walt I explained that I was starting to search for a replacement car for my Lexus when the lease expired in January. Walt took the time to listen to what I liked and that I was starting to search for a replacement car for my Lexus when the lease expired in January. Walt took the time to listen to what I liked and did not like about my current Lexus, as well as previous cars. After taking that in and based on my comments he explained the BMW lineup to me and suggested, that based on what I had said a 3 or 5 Series car would be a good place to start. We looked at what was in the lot and on the showroom floor. As we looked Walt questioned things I liked and did not like about each car and ultimately he suggested a test drive in a 335Is. Walt drove me to a back lot of sorts and showed me all the safety and control features of the car, explained what some of the unfamilar ones did and how or when to use them. He initially drove the car and demonstrated both it's accelleration, how the transmission works and its braking capability. After I drove it I decided not to persue looking at other cars, Walt found the black color I was looking for and that was how the sale was made. Being in a sales oriented profession I must say that Walt has a couple of skills generally (in my experience) not found in automotive sales. He spent a good deal of time listening to what I wanted and liked as well as disliked, so he could show me cars that fit my needs. The other thing is he never "pitched" the features or benefits that were not on my wish list, but was cklear to explain them all to me. More
