The following provides a history of the ineptitude of the Gerald Toyota Service Department servicing my 2017 Toyota Highlander. Chronological history of 2017 Highlander GPS Problem 4/24/24 -GPS worki Gerald Toyota Service Department servicing my 2017 Toyota Highlander. Chronological history of 2017 Highlander GPS Problem 4/24/24 -GPS working intermittently. Gerald inspected GPS and RADIO and SD Card . Recommended replace radio and SD Card – Replaced radio and SD Card – Cost Covered under Extended Warranty Contract. Mileage 58340 2/07/25 - GPS not working properly. Reboots and screen pixilated. New radio ordered. Mileage 67934 2/18/25 - new radio installed. NO SD Card replacement. Mileage 68238 2/18/25 - on way home from Gerlad Service appt GPS continuously rebooted and screen was pixilated. Called Service Manager Marc Wilson. Told him we would be out of town for the next three months. Mr Wilson said another new radio (#3) would be ordered and install would be done upon our return. 6/3/25 - Service inspection found that the radio extension box is failing and would need to be replaced. Service contract expired but customer reached out to Brand Management who approved the repair under the original extended Service Contract. Radio Extension Box ordered. NO SD CARD ORDERED/REPLACED 6/18/25 - 7:00AM Service appt to install new radio extension box. After a two hourwait service tech Kevin and service advisor Morgan Kosiba came to tell me that the radio is working but the GPS will not accept any new destinations. Now the Technician says that the SD needs to be replaced. SD card is on back order and will not arrive for a week. 6/18/25 – Ordered a new SD Card from Amazon and installed into the SD Card MAP slot. GPS immediately began to work correctly allowing the entry of destinations. Problem solved. 6/23/25 - emailed Marc Wilson regarding the status of the SD card. Was told the SD card was now backordered to July 9th. Emailed Manar Tahar General Sales Manager who said that nothing could be done to expedite the SD card delivery sooner than 7/9/25. Told Mr Tahar that I would reach out to Toyota Brand Management. 6/24/25 - spoke with Miguel at Brand Management who said there was nothing they could do to expedite the SD card delivery. I asked who I could escalate this issue to within Toyota and was told there was no other option. 7/8/25 – Received the NEDW SD card. Installed in the Highlander in 30 seconds and the GPS, Radio etc all work like New. This should have been the FIRST part replaced on 4/24/24!!!!!!! More
