I looked at four dealerships for the Altima I wanted and found it but couldn't get the deal I was looking for. I went to Gerald Nissan in North Aurora and got a better deal than I expected. Was in the market for a new altima with the 6 cylinder engine. Salesman greeted me as I walked in and was very nice right at the get go. He immediately got the car I requested and then explained to me that it didnt have all the options that I was looking for (loaded), but he was truly making sure I wanted the car. We test drove the car, and he answered all my questions honestly and did admit that he was new and the one question he couldnt answer for me he consulted a manual immediately and found what I was looking for. They did have the car with the color and options I wanted, and we then got to the part that I hate the most. Dan asked me what I thought about putting down on the car, and I told him I wasnt sure but I wanted to keep my payments at a certain range for 60 months. Dan came back shortly with a down payment amount to keep me there and I was pleased. I then went to the finance office and met with Lee who explained everything to me as he went along. Very professional man and just a pleasure to work with. I left the dealership and picked the car up a few days later. Dan met me with the car in spotless condition, explained how to operate everything in the car, even programmed my phone with the bluetooth and programmed all my radio stations. It took him about an hour, but now I know how everything in this auto works! When I left the dealership I knew exactly what I paid for the car, what I paid for the extra warranty, and all the details of the warranty. I read previous posts and Im sure some of these bad reviews are warranted, but I would like to see the dealer side of it too. All in all this was probably the best car buying experience I have ever had. Dan Clark and Lee should be who you see if you want great customer care. More
I have bought 5 cars from Gerald Nissan-Subaru over the past 12 years, I love there service to the way they treat me when I go buy a car. When I come in everyone knows me by name they wash my car for me j past 12 years, I love there service to the way they treat me when I go buy a car. I have sent him my family and friends there and would recommend them to anyone I know. More
I bought a used Nissan Titan truck. I love it!! My experience at Gerald Nissan (North Aurora) was really good. Dealing with my sales person, Jose Valdovinos was also very good. We tried to buy a new car from these guys and after some runaround with the sales guy Michael, she received a few berating emails calling her a 'waiste of time' and insinuating that we were shopping around runaround with the sales guy Michael, she received a few berating emails calling her a 'waiste of time' and insinuating that we were shopping around at a dealer that didn't exist, etc. It was some of the most laughably bad and borderline insulting business correspondence I've ever seen and I did complain to the general sales manager about it. To be fair, at least Rick DeLaTorre was reasonable when I called and he apologized for the incident. I do understand that we weren't very direct with Michael in terms of the price and quote(s) we received and that's our fault as we were fishing around for a good price, but they apparently don't understand the words 'patience' or 'professionalism' at this dealership. These guys are the reason why new car buying is such a hassle, and I'd strongly recommend visiting another dealership and do not waste your time here if you value your sanity and dignity. I'm happy to report that we have a brand new Versa out in our parking lot as I'm writing this that I got from another local dealer. More
Just like Geraldsubarusucks said - they are only about getting as much money out of you as they can! Unfortuneately, the Nissan side took advantage of me as well! Nissan makes a great product, but I wouldn't advise purchasing it from Gerald!!!!!!! More
BE CAREFUL! I bought a car from this dealership and decided to cancel my 4 year extended warranty that we purchased, which was not explained to us as far as cost, only told us that it would cost us $30 decided to cancel my 4 year extended warranty that we purchased, which was not explained to us as far as cost, only told us that it would cost us $30 per month. When we tried to cancel this warranty after finding out the real price, the "Finance Manager" tried to give us $1000 back to keep it and when we decided we did not want it after our sales rep told us he mailed the cancellation forms 1 1/2 weeks prior, we came to find out that the dealership handles all cancellations, not us. Thanks for nothing Dan! Anyway the "finance manger"(tamer shams) started yelling in his office to get out after we would not do the deal for the $1000 and keep the warranty. I mean come on I have a six month old baby in his office and he started to threaten me. Is this professional? If I did this at my job, I would be out the door. My wife was in tears and the Sales Manager came in to break up the argument. Really...this is what I have to deal with? Some jacked up finance manager that didn’t get his way and is YELLING at me and my wife while my 6 month old baby is in the office? He did claim I spoke to him like he was a little kid and disrespected him. Sorry but maybe it's time to grow up and if our sales rep would have been clear on how to cancel this we would have never been in this situation!!! Be careful these guys are con artist and when they can’t get one past you they will threaten you and your family. NEVER will I do business with this dealership again! More

We decided to do business with Gerald because of the honesty and integrity of the people I already knew, but also we got that same feeling from Scott. Although we had to trek "halfway around the globe" to get to Naperville from Wheeling, it was worth our time. We were welcomed with friendly, professional and thorough treatment from Mike Chino and all the rest of the people that introduced themselves and made our car buying experience extremely comfortable. Thanks to you personally, for giving my parents a direct contact for service closer to their home. 2002 sales experience was fine. Typical car dealer, got 4% over invoice from consumer reports. I have been going to their service dept since 2003 and they are excellent. Subaru master technician is great, talked to him several times and he is also very friendly and has gone the extra mile for me on a few occasions. I trust these guys. I would recommend them to anyone. I work for an online retailer an know how people libel the heck out of anyone they got a sour face from. Rest assured Subaru service will treat you right. More
This was one of the best shopping experiences I have had purchasing a vehicle. I purchased a New Altima coupe at a very good price and although I got less than expected for my trade I was not interested in purchasing a vehicle. I purchased a New Altima coupe at a very good price and although I got less than expected for my trade I was not interested in going through the hassel of selling it myself, on the other side why would they give me more than they can get one for at auction I guess. I was in and out with my new car in under 2 hours. I recommened educating urself on pricing and getting an online quote. Truly a satisfying experience my salesman Art was very in tune with our needs. I am posting this because no one ever seems to post good experiences and it seems only fair to give credit where it is due. I will be back for my next vehicle. Margaret More
