I purchased a 2022 Kia Telluride NEW, from Gerald Kia, and paid a $6,000 markup, during the COVID markup era. This vehicle was in park and running, but put itself in gear (shifter still in park) and the v and paid a $6,000 markup, during the COVID markup era. There was a recall on the vehicle, which Kia answer was to make the parking brake engage when the vehicle is running and in park. Gerald Kia service has had my vehicle for months (multiple times in and out). The transmission was replaced under warranty and the vehicle released back to me. Then the transmission started surging, gaining and losing power while trying to drive. All of the dashboard light came on. The vehicle is back at Gerald Kia and the placed a new computer in it. That solved half of the dash lights , but not all. Then I was told it needed a shifter. That didn't fix anything. Now I'm being told a corporate field tech needs to examine the vehicle, but there isn't one assigned to the midwest region anymore. So not only do the local techs not know how to fix the issue, there isn't a corporate tech available either. I have asked Gerald Kia and Kia corporate to buy ack the vehicle as a lemon and both refused. The lady at Gerald said she would call me back with an answer and never did. I was denied the opportunity to speak with the sales manager as well. So here I am with a $50,000+ paper weight of a vehicle. It's obvious all Gerald Kia cares about is making money and not standing behind the junk they sell. Kia corporate has an open claim and refuses to stand behind their product and take responsibility to fix my garage cause clearly by a Kia malfunction, which is a known problem!!!!PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR... He already sounded like he didn’t want to be bothered with the phone call. I begin to explain what I was calling in regards to extending my warranty. He proceeded to rush the phone call by quickly, taking my information and stating that he will call me back in 25 minutes. It has now been over 48 hours And I have YET To receive a phone call. I expressed that I urgently was trying to extend my warranty that same day yet he proceeded to have an attitude like I was bothering him. You all seriously need to work on your employees with their attitudes because it’s ridiculous. More
Had an oil change/tire rotation appointment for 9:30AM on 05/18/2024 at Gerald Kia of Mattesson. We were told the oil change/tire rotation service would take about 1.5 hours with a required software update. Here are some fun facts to consider before putting your car into the service department at Gerald Kia of Mattesson. 1. At 9:29, about 5-7 minutes after Robert Garner drove away in our car, I received an excessive speed notification from the Kia Access App on my phone. My excessive speed threshold is set at 85MPH. Apparently, whichever Gerald Kia employee was in control of our car was driving it faster than 85MPH. 2. After the oil change service was completed and my car was brought out to us, I popped the hood and found new motor oil spilled all around the filter area of the undercar splash shield. I asked for a rag and cleaned this up myself. Several Gerald employees witnessed my exchange with Robert Garner regarding this sloppy workmanship. 3. Upon opening the driver's side door to depart I found new motor oil smeared on the right side of the driver's seat cushion. Again, I cleaned this up myself in the service advisors area. Several Gerald employees witnessed my exchange with Robert Garner regarding this next example of sloppy workmanship. 4. While driving home from the oil change service, I discovered that the radio station I had tuned in during the ride over to Gerald Kia had been changed to a station that is not on my pre-sets and one I would never listen to. 5. Later in the same day I discovered that a totally unfamiliar radio station had been added to my pre-set station list. Sloppy work and abuse of customer property. Never, ever going back. Don't bother calling to try to "make it right". I don't trust this dealership anymore. More
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT! !! I received quotes from 3 Kia dealers for the same job. I took it to Hawkinson where I had purchased my vehicle. Not only did they charge me 2x t !! I received quotes from 3 Kia dealers for the same job. I took it to Hawkinson where I had purchased my vehicle. Not only did they charge me 2x the quoted price, they also did not "waive" the diagnostic fee when the repair was done as I was told. Instead of waiving the fee they added it to the labor on the job. They also did extra work that I did not authorize. They also neglected to get my written authorization to do any work on my car. This dealership is unethical, lies, and is dishonest with it's customers! More
Apparently they do not like to service car repairs under warranty. You call in the first thing they say: "you have to pay $165 unless it's under warranty." Then when you take the car in they say: "if an ani warranty. You call in the first thing they say: "you have to pay $165 unless it's under warranty." Then when you take the car in they say: "if an animal bites the wire the warranty won't cover it." Like they already diagnosed the problem. And what do anyone have to do to prevent and animal biting their car? Oh and I bet they will just say it is that because they want us to pay for it instead of the warranty. Furthermore, they couldn't just say it was due to defective part if it is the wire in the first place? Hawcinson Kia is a horrible dealership in the get go. We called another dealership and they never treated us this way, the only reason we went here was because they had earlier appointment. More
