Beware of the sneaky way they add on cost to your agreed upon purchase price. This is done by the Finance manager and management. Be careful. If you don't ask to see the final loan amount and the itemized bill to how you got to your total, you will miss that they added additional items such as "sealant coating" cost, that you never requested, that they can't prove that they put on the car and its a fee that they just include on your loan. This is a scam. Read on this, do your homework. Don't give away your money. Finance guys make their commissions also, that's why they push you so much on all the extra stuff, and insurance to add to your cost. And even if you say no, this guy at least, at this dealership, just added stuff to the loan amount, he skipped the page of the loan total so I wouldn't see it and only showed me my monthly payment. It was I, being from a Finance background as well, that requested to see the breakout of the total purchase and caught the additional items he had added. What is worst, management didn’t want to correct the bill and remove it for good faith. Simple! Go to more honest businesses. More
I went to the "Gouge" place again in Matteson to purchase an EV6. I noticed the Gouge sticker on the car> $11800 over list with things called market adjustment, $2200 Simonize (on a matte car) and of course an EV6. Since 2019 they lost a $55000 Stinger deal as I went to Bradley got a discount and a $45000 Sorento deal as both had the gouge sticker on them and got a discount on the Sorrento. Went to Bradley and got a deal. So if you add up everything since 2019 they lost 3 deals totaling $163000 in Kia deals and I live local. They are the other dealers' best salesperson! More
Sales manager John is the most aggressive sales manager I've ever encountered in 50 yrs of life. I hope I was more professional than him. John will belittle you until you accept their price I guess. And yes I do know how to see the fluid level of a coolant container. 150 pt inspection...be very leary of such claims at this dealership. John needs some more customer relationship training. Maybe he was having a bad day. I had a very bad experience w this dealership due to sales manager John. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT! !! I received quotes from 3 Kia dealers for the same job. I took it to Hawkinson where I had purchased my vehicle. Not only did they charge me 2x t !! Not only did they charge me 2x the quoted price, they also did not "waive" the diagnostic fee when the repair was done as I was told. Instead of waiving the fee they added it to the labor on the job. They also did extra work that I did not authorize. They also neglected to get my written authorization to do any work on my car. This dealership is unethical, lies, and is dishonest with it's customers! More

They told me a check engine light came on the car the next day and it was irreversibly damaged overnight and the deal was no longer on. I asked for any documentation, the check engine code, a picture etc but the car had suddenly been towed away and they couldn’t remember the code’. The car had 30k miles and was a Carfax 1 owner vehicle previously owned by the salesman Brandon Santoro (he claimed). Total fraud. More
This was my first time buying a car. I was unsure of how the process would go, but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. Not only did I leave Hawkinson with my dream car, but I left as a customer who would no doubt return to buy their next car from Hawkinson. Lyn was so helpful through the entire process and helped me set up a few things in my car before I took it home. I had such a wonderful experience! More

Apparently they do not like to service car repairs under warranty. You call in the first thing they say: "you have to pay $165 unless it's under warranty." Then when you take the car in they say: "if an animal bites the wire the warranty won't cover it." Like they already diagnosed the problem. And what do anyone have to do to prevent and animal biting their car? Oh and I bet they will just say it is that because they want us to pay for it instead of the warranty. Furthermore, they couldn't just say it was due to defective part if it is the wire in the first place? Hawcinson Kia is a horrible dealership in the get go. We called another dealership and they never treated us this way, the only reason we went here was because they had earlier appointment. More
