I have been buying Honda vehicles for 25 years and this is my first from Gerald Honda. I wish I had found them sooner. My sales associate Jamie S was the most knowledgeable of any previous associate, and h is my first from Gerald Honda. I wish I had found them sooner. I dealt with Jamie S. and she was again very very good with meeting my needs and wants, she is VERY VERY good at her job and then took her time and explained everything about my new car. I have recommended my friends and other family members to Gerald Honda and they as well will tell you the same thing about Gerald Honda, and Jamie S. More

The problem started when I leased a 2024 Honda Odyssey on 5/21/24. All parties reviewed and accepted the terms of the lease agreement and that should have been the end. However, on 6/10/24 when I was out of town, I received a text message asking me to come back and re-sign because, “the cap cost with the rebate doesn’t read correctly as is”. I drove to the dealer on 6/19/24 to assist the dealer in rectifying their errors. Upon arriving, I was asked to sign new paperwork that still had errors so I asked for revised corrected paperwork. I also asked to sign a new odometer disclosure because the car now had over 250 miles on it while the original odometer disclosure had but 31 miles on it. I suspected it was illegal to try and pass off the original odometer disclosure at this time. However, when I spoke up, the finance director, Risto Georgiefski, said it’s for your benefit and tried to coerce me to sign off. I felt intimidated so I merely signed the new lease agreement and left. My advice to anyone considering buying a Honda is, “do yourself a favor and go somewhere else”! This dealership is now under investigation. More
Recently had problems with my 2021 Honda Civic Type R. I took the car in for repairs. At first they told me it was a slipped clutch I paid close to 5k out of pocket for repairs. When I got the car back I I took the car in for repairs. At first they told me it was a slipped clutch I paid close to 5k out of pocket for repairs. When I got the car back I drove it 3 times it seemed fine at first but I also wasn’t driving it hard since they just replaced the clutch on it. On the third day I had it it broke down again with the same exact symptoms as the first time only this time there was engine knocking. Now I’m down 5k on a 2021 vehicle with only 24k miles on it and they claim it needs a new engine now and the dealership says they can’t do anything to help me not even with their lifetime warranty or the manufacturer’s warranty. The service representative I had, Craig Lantz, was very rude when I tried to get my car towed out of there he even tried to charge me a storage fee which would of been 1,100 dollars even though I told him he never notified me of any storage fee when I left my car there. I spoke to mr mike Hayes and at least he helped me out on that. Overall terrible experience 5k gone on an supposed repairs that didn’t even fix my car. Also on top of that the communication from Craig Lantz was horrid management can double check our calls to to verify this claim. He called left me a voicemail saying he needs to talk to me but when I called more than once just to try to get in touch with him it took me calling several times just to finally get some details on the car situation. They told me that my transmission fluid was dirty & that’s all that was needed to be done the same problem I told Gerald Honda but they told me otherwise. I spent the last month & a half w/o a car because David the service specialist told me that my transmission was gone. Also the general manager is very rude he doesn’t know how to talk to people and I’ve been getting my car serviced here for a year & I’m completely devastated please DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE or buy a car here. Save yourself the heart ache & head ache More
At first the SUV we looked at was terrific, but our seller came back to us with a very high offer from his manager. The manager seemed greedy but after working with Jermaine and coming to an acceptable offer, we moved ahead with the purchase. Jermaine was concerned of our financial constraints and helped us work in a good payment plan. We will be shopping here again. If you plan on shopping there, ask for Jermaine. More
Dave Dalcorobbo was a great help in my car buying process. It took a couple visits but he got me into a car I like and made sure I was comfortable buying it. Thanks for the new car! On January 4, 2022, I took my 2015 Honda Pilot to be serviced at Gerald Honda in Matteson following multiple issues with my battery. Prior to my appointment I had to have my car jumped a total of 4-5 times within a four-week period. After waiting for about a couple of hours, I was told that everything checked out and they could not find anything wrong with my car. Following my appointment, I was able to start and drive my car without any problems for about a week. On January 13, 2022, I was driving down 183rd Street after coming from Orland Park when out of the blue, my battery indicator light came on followed by several other indicator lights. In addition, my car was making a loud noise and I had difficulty accelerating. When all of this occurred, I immediately called Gerald Honda. After speaking to one of the service reps regarding the host of issues I was experiencing, they recommended that it was best to bring my car in right away. I followed their advice, and by the grace of God was able to make it to the dealership without further incidence. When I arrived, which was about 1:50 p.m., I explained to the service rep what was going on. He indicated that it was probably my alternator but would have one of the mechanics look at it. However, I knew I would not be able to wait as I had to pick my son up from school, so I asked for a loaner. The service rep indicated that he did not know if they had any available but would have to check. I found his response perplexing because I am at a dealership where they sell cars. In my mind, I was thinking, “HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE A LOANER VEHICLE FOR A CUSTOMER WHO NOT ONLY PURCHASED THEIR CAR FROM THAT PARTICAR LOCATION BUT ALSO HAS THEIR CAR SERVICED THERE REGULARLY”. I digress. While he went to “check”, I proceeded to sit in their waiting area. At this point 20 minutes had passed by, and I still had not received a response about a loaner. I then went and spoke to another service rep by the name of “Craig”. He tells me there are no loaners. I plead with him and tell him that I must pick up my son from school. He asks me for my phone number and address. After receiving this information that he asked for, he tells me that there is a loaner shortage and there was nothing he could do. While he is telling me this nonsense, the initial service rep comes to me and asks me for my drivers license and insurance card. After making copies he says nothing but proceeds to take necessary steps physically to get me a loaner. Once he finalized everything, again he did use any verbal communication, but motions me to loaner, which was a newer model of their Honda Odyssey. He did not give me any instructions how to operate the vehicle, so I had to figure it out on my own. While I was headed to get my son from school, I get a call from Craig indicating that the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch Front Spool Valve Assembly burst open causing oil to leak onto and fried my battery and alternator. He further indicated that the cost for repair was around $2000. I told him that I needed to process what he was telling me and would need to call him back. He tells me that I needed to call him back with my decision by 3:30 p.m. that day. At that point I called to make future arrangements to have my car looked at by my mom’s mechanic to get a second opinion. While driving back to the dealership from picking up my son, I get another call from Craig and I inform him that I did not want them to proceed with fixing my car. He tells me that my car is on the charger and that I will be able to drive it home at best. Even though I did not accept their recommendation, I had to pay them $165 for falsely diagnosing the problem. After leaving the dealership, again by the grace of God I was able to get home and had my car towed to my mom’s mechanic. The mechanic informed me that GERALD HONDA sold me a bill of goods and that it was only my alternator that needed replacing. After my horrible experience with GERALD HONDA, I will never give them my business again! More
