When I decided it was time to purchase a used car for my Son, I resolved myself to the frustrating, uncomfortable experience of navigating the used car purchasing process. And for the first several weeks of my journey, it was exactly that. Unjustifiably inflated prices, rigid dealerships with a take or leave it attitude, and even an attempted bait and switch to get me into a showroom. Of all my frustrations, what was the WORST was dealerships unwilling to work with me on creating space for my personal mechanic to complete an inspection (at my expense) with these dealerships offering me unreasonably small windows if any at all. So when I saw my target (a 2014 Honda CRV) show up in my feed at Manly I took a deep breath and prepared for the inevitable dance (if they even called me back at all). Fifteen minutes after I submitted an inquiry, I received a call for Cory. Almost immediately, things felt different. I asked Cory a couple questions around the Carfax. He was able to address one question and committed to getting me an answer on the other, promising to call me back. Lo and behold, 15 minutes later Cory called back just as he promised. He wasn't able to give me a full answer because the information wasn't available but he and I agreed on a probable answer and I was comfortable. Then I asked my dreaded question...how can I arrange for my mechanic to see it (I live 50 minutes away). His answer? "Take it for 24 hours on a loan. Have your mechanic take his time. We are confident in our cars." So I did! Cory couldn't have made the loaner process easier and 24 hours later I got a comprehensive report from my mechanic. The car was in really good shape and the report simply identified some normal wear and tear type issues for a car of this year and mileage. Manly worked with me on the purchase price to reflect the items in the report we agreed were reasonable for Manly to cover and we arrived a price with very little back and forth. By the time I got back to the dealership with the car to sign the papers, Cory was ready and waiting for me. No sitting around while he talked with other customers, I felt like I was his priority. The purchase process was quick, transparent, and professional. I highly recommend Cory McMurray and Manly of Santa Rosa if you are in the market for a used car. Thank you Cory! More

I brought my car in for a diagnosis that I was told would be free if covered by Warranty. There were additional issues with my car that they chose to fix without getting my approval. I have never been to a dealership that has charged me without my approval of the diagnosed issue before, but apparently they do this regularly and said it was OK. Be careful when dealing with Laura Stout and the manager, Mark Conroy. Text message history Laura Stout: That is correct. You would sign on for a diagnoses fee of $240.00 and if it is the clock spring then the diagnoses fee would go away. Laura Stout: Hi Laura. Would this be covered by warranty? Attached diagnosis from Tom (very nice man) at AAA auto and Tires center. Finding: horn operation Recommendation: no contact through clock spring Notes Confirmed no horn operation from the steering wheel. The horn will activate with alarm and while lock/unlocking vehicle. tested power at fuse(good) tested power on two side of the relay (good) ground and continuity to the horn from relay(good) powered horn from the relay and it is operational. Found no ground signal from the horn switch in the steering wheel, to the command side of the relay. Installed a relay tester in between the relay and horn relay terminal. I can simulate a round signal from the horn switch and horn operates. Horn circuit test good. I need to remove the Airbag in the steering wheel to gain access to the clock spring to test switch and continuity through the clock spring. Upon discharging system and testing continuity through the clock spring, I found that the circuit is open. recommend replace the clock spring and recheck operation. Laura Stout: It should be covered.
