I bought my truck last year 2023 GMC Denali 3500 1 ton pickup truck cost me $100,000 on 4/22/2024 I was towing my 5th wheel home from a job 350 miles away took me 2 fuel tanks to get home check engine lig pickup truck cost me $100,000 on 4/22/2024 I was towing my 5th wheel home from a job 350 miles away took me 2 fuel tanks to get home check engine light had turned on and truck goes in limp mode. So I call the dealership, set up an appointment to see what’s the issue with my truck, so they tell me bring in the truck on 4/24/2024 so the diesel mechanic can diagnose the issue, next thing I know I get a message from dealership it’s gonna be $14,013.65 to fix your truck not once was told what the issue was I’m like ok I have warranty on the vehicle mind you I only have 25k on the odometer. They tell me we’ll warrant doesn’t cover metal shavings in your fuel system so I was like I didn’t put metal shavings in my fuel tank and isn’t that the reason there’s a fuel filter and they said well the filters aren’t 100% and could let particles into your fuel system so you must have put some bad fuel from somewhere and I told them well I don’t know any fuel stations that would have metal shavings in the fuel pumps so I told them I heard that GM fuel pumps have had issues they said sir we used to have issues with the CP4 pumps but we use the DP4 pumps now so that shouldn’t be the issue per the service manager Ramon so I told him well maybe my pump is the lemon of all the pumps out there he said no sir we believe you put bad fuel in your fuel system. The fuel is clean but has metal shavings I said ok but when a fuel pump starts to fail and go bad it pumps metal shavings in the return lines back to the fuel tank and of course that’s why there’s metal shaving in the fuel filter and that’s where the metal shavings could be coming from he said no sir we believe you have bad fuel I said ok can you break open the fuel pump to see what’s inside the Hi Pressure Fuel pump and see what it looks like inside he said we can’t we have to get authorization from GM so I called the GM Warranty Department to see if they could help me out with this issue and basically there going off of what the mechanic is saying so now they want me to pay for diagnosing my vehicle which is costing me $2242.50 to just remove the fuel pump, they haven’t checked inside the fuel rail or engine to see what the damage is and the never gave me the engine codes until I asked for them which was last week 5/2/02024 and yet to tell me what the $14,013 is for. So basically is you buy a new vehicle and have issues don’t bother to take it to Gay Buick in Dickinson Tx, because there gonna say your at fault for your vehicle issues. The Warranty is a joke because they go off what the Technical Institute of Technology Graduates say especially if you have a diesel truck, watch out cause apparently Buccees and Chevrons and all these other diesel fuel stations have bad fuel in there systems with metal shavings that caused my truck to go into limp mode and warranty doesn’t cover anything in the fuel system. Absolutely positively will not recommend his dealership to anyone. I drove from the DFW area to purchase a truck. When I arrived I was greeted with the salesman Dave Cummings who I had been dealing with f to anyone. I drove from the DFW area to purchase a truck. When I arrived I was greeted with the salesman Dave Cummings who I had been dealing with for weeks prior to the visit. The truck looked just like the website photos and at first sight, I was excited and pleased. Then I started the engine getting ready for the test drive and I instantly heard the squealing noise. So Dave assured me that it was due to the cold weather and sure enough is was a very cold day. So I drove the truck and was please other than the little noise I observed when accelerating the truck. Again Dave assured me that the truck had passed a numerous inspections and it was good to go. Again we drove the truck to another building and when he started the truck it made the same squealing noise and again he said it was due to the cold weather. I then brought it to the sales manager Josh's attention and he said the same thing that it was due to the weather. So I purchased the truck that had no warranty and as I drove back home I called back and informed Dave of the slight noise that I was hearing when accelerating and in so many words he said it was nothing. So when I make it back home and checked under the head, the cap for the brake reservoir was missing. I called and spoke with Josh who said they would cover the cost of the cap and they did. But as time when on and the temperature change to warm then warmer the truck was still making the squealing nose and I then took it to a local dealer and the diagnosed the truck stating that the starter gear was failing which is why it was making that noise when starting and the other noise was due to the back pressure value. A total of approximately 2000 dollars. I called Gay Auto back and spoke with Josh and he all he had to say was that I should get a second option because dealerships will simply try and get your money. And my response to him was if you and Dave would have listened to me then I would be having this problem. So I said all this to say IF YOU PURCHASE a vehicle from Gay Family Auto, expect the worse.
