Every experience my husband and I have had with this dealership has been absolutely horrendous. Toyota should be embarrassed of this dealership, management, and sales staff. I’m a loyal Toyota customer and hate that this is the dealership I have to deal with as a Gainesville resident. It is 100% worth driving to Jacksonville, Orlando, or literally ANYWHERE ELSE if you are looking to buy or lease a vehicle. When we purchased my vehicle in August the sales person was either completely inexperienced (which hey, everyone starts somewhere but if this is the case make sure you have other staff there to help so the customer experience isn’t a disaster??) and left us with more questions than answers. Payments we agreed to went up by the time we were done and then the woman who was in charge of paperwork was a pushy as she could possibly be. My husband said no to multiple add-on’s and she continued to pretty much bully me into things going back to them 3 times and telling us it would be essentially irresponsible not to add them on. She reached out months later asking for additional things she needed for paperwork so that also seemed odd that things still hadn’t been finalized? We had to call and ask for our spare key three times- the same inexperienced salesperson kept telling me he would call me back and never once did. I ended up reaching out to someone else who finally followed up with me (only pleasant, competent employee we worked with through multiple transactions). Fast forward to today- my husband was simply bringing my car in for an oil change when a sales member approached him to ask if he was in the market, etc. My husband clearly stated his current lease situation and the sales guy ran with it going as far to call the other dealership the lease was through and get the payoff amount, etc. After a couple of hours of negotiating my husband literally left his truck there with Toyota and left with a new vehicle lease, being told by the original sales member they were paying off his existing lease. The entire transaction ended up being void due to miscommunications on your staff’s end. This meant multiple trips to the dealership, multiple calls to insurance, a ding on our credit for literally now no reason, and just an entire day’s worth of xx because a sales member didn’t know what he was doing, miscommunicated with the rest of the staff, and essentially created a bogus deal. I am in disbelief by the entire situation and the lack of any attempt to rectify or even own up to their mistakes. All involved should be embarrassed and frankly held accountable for their lack of knowledge and poor professionalism that took place in this matter. This dealership is such a poor reflection of the Toyota brand and if I had the chance to go back in time I would steer FAR clear of this place. I would gladly drive the hour+ to work with another Toyota dealership or honestly even shop another brand. Save yourself the trouble and go ANYWHERE else. More
