My salesman, Jim Stein, was quite helpful in informing me of all of the items on my car and helping with setting some of them up. Zach Nagler was the finance manager I dealt with and he couldn't have been nicer, again no pressure. Everyone else I came into contact with was very pleasant. First, my husband and I were greeted by Lance Culver, while I must tell you that I have never had such a pleasant car buying experience in my life. First, my husband and I were greeted by Lance Culver, while we were looking at cars on your lot. He is such a pleasant man and extremely knowledgeable!! He answered all of our questions regarding the Forester and the Outback. We test drove both models and decided on the Outback. Lance arranged to have the Outback model, with the color that we choose to be brought to Delmar for us. He effortlessly guided us through the entire process. Lance never pressured us to buy anything, but instead made it very easy for us to make our decisions. He also laid out all options for us. We decided to finance the car through Gateway, taking advantage of the 0% interest which Lance told us about. We met Zachary Nagler. What a complete pleasure!! Zach also made us feel at home at Gateway. He explained to us all the options that were available to us. He brilliantly prepared all the paperwork. Zach is also extremely knowledgeable. He took his time to answer all questions that we had. What a joy to be able to work with someone of Zach's caliber while buying a car! We are sure glad that we had this wonderful experience with both Lance and Zach. I'd like to thank you for having such terrific employees on your staff. Want a high pressure buying experience? Look elsewhere! Steve Wergin was such a pleasure to work with throughout the whole process. I requested a test drive of a used vehicle and set a time and when I arriv Steve Wergin was such a pleasure to work with throughout the whole process. I requested a test drive of a used vehicle and set a time and when I arrived the car was out and waiting for me. I did not go in knowing of Gateway's philosophy of treating customers with respect and not being a typical car dealership, you know, the kind that make people cringe when thinking about buying a car. Instead, after the test drive, we talked about numbers for a half hour and I was not pressured into trying to run my credit or anything of that nature. I left the dealership with a quote (price/trade valuation) in hand. By the time I got home, Steve had recorded a video message and emailed it to me, thanking me for my time. I made another visit to the dealership to give the car a longer test drive and really figure out if it was the car for me and Gateway gladly accommodated. I then decided to purchase, spent 20 minutes filling out the credit app (a Thursday), asked Steve to run numbers on their end to see if they could beat the financing I secured and I would come in to purchase it on Saturday. On Friday, they followed up respectfully and offered their financing which worked better for me and I firmed up that I would be there at first thing Saturday for the closing. The day of the closing, it took all of 45 minutes, without a hard nosed tactic from finance (Zach) about the warranty and stuff. Honestly, I think buying a TV at a big box electronics retailer will get you harder sales pitches than Gateway will give ya. They truly know how to treat customers and they are not playing games like they are doing you a favor and they don't overpromise their position. On top of that, they have a comfy area for the kids to relax and some reptiles to keep them entertained. They do not (at least on the vehicle I purchased) give a warranty past the typical 3-month/3,000-mile powertrain that you see in Maryland but they also don't give any illusions that you are receiving anything more, either. If you are looking for a pleasant experience (like CarMax) but the cars are priced better, look to Gateway Subaru. The next time you are car shopping, think of Gateway, your blood pressure will thank you :) More

Worth the drive After leaving another dealership feeling like I couldn't trust them, I drove more than 40 miles to Gateway on the recommendation of my local mechanic. After leaving another dealership feeling like I couldn't trust them, I drove more than 40 miles to Gateway on the recommendation of my local mechanic. Initial visit with Jim Stein was relaxed and thorough. Got a fair offer on my trade-in, and a complete disclosure of purchase options and possible financing. Followed up with a second test drive and made the deal. No bait and switch, no sleaze. Sales mgr. Wendy was helpful; finance guy Zach made full disclosures, had all the paperwork ready, and got us out of there without spending a full day sitting around. More

My next car needs third row seating which is too bad Because Subaru doesn’t really offer that- otherwise I’d go back here in a heartbeat. Loved every min of our short time at Gateway.
