Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa responded

This gentleman called and made an offer over the phone on this Corvette. He then had his parents come in and look the car over and test drive it on his behalf. They then took the car on a 19 hour drive to deliver it to him, with no issues. Once the car arrived to him he said it needed brakes and asked us to pay for them. We refused as all of our cars are AS IS, WHERE IS, with NO WARRANTY. It says that on our website, the window sticker, the Buyer's Guide and on our contract in 3 places which he signed. The contracts had to be corrected because he was going to pick the car up which meant we needed to collect sales tax. He then decided to have it shipped, which means we don't collect sales tax, and lastly decided that he wanted his parents to pick up the vehicle which again means we need to collect sales tax. He received a 30 day temp tag to drive on and received his title within the 30 days we are allotted by the state to deliver a title to a buyer. I am the manager, Brad Kline, and I don't hide from people. My face, first and last name, phone number to the showroom, and email are clearly on our website. I made it very clear that we were not paying for repairs. He bought a 2007 Corvette with almost 100,000 miles on it and it needed normal maintenance like brakes. We knew nothing of the radiator, but again, it made a 19 hour trip to his house with no issues. We consider all sales final and do not offer warranties. I am sorry that he was disappointed with the vehicle but we are also open 6 days a week for someone to inspect vehicles themselves or send in an inspector on their behalf. In this car, his inspector were his parents who gave him the go ahead to buy the vehicle after looking it over and driving it.
