Terrible experience that all others should learn from I thought purchasing a vehicle from gateway would avoid the concerns I had of buying a classic car ,unfortunately I was mistaken. I thought I was wor I thought purchasing a vehicle from gateway would avoid the concerns I had of buying a classic car ,unfortunately I was mistaken. I thought I was working with a reputable dealership and doing so I made the mistake of purchasing the car based on thier presentation of facts and videos. This material turned out to be false misleading and misrepresentation of thier marketing. If you are considering a purchase make sure it is inspected by a professional it is worth it. After I brought my complaints to them they listened with no action More
Throrough, patient and professional. Having been looking for and researching the 68-71 Ranchero, I saw Gateway was advertising a couple units online, both at Denver and O'Fallon. I recent Having been looking for and researching the 68-71 Ranchero, I saw Gateway was advertising a couple units online, both at Denver and O'Fallon. I recently sold my '64 C-10 online and immediately expressed my interest to Chris Gersman on this amazing '70 he had in stock. While I hadn't been paid yet I advised Chris I'd put in a solid offer as soon as it came through. I did, he presented the offer and negotiated to the consignor and we struck a deal later that hour. All the paperwork was handled online by PDF making the wire transfer a piece of cake. The office sent out the signed title by courier and I registered here this morning, 700 miles away, with no problems. Excellent communication, great team of experts always available, the dozens and dozens of pictures including video all make it very easy for a buyer to make an informed decision. Thank you Chris and thank you all at Gateway St Louis! More
Difficult to deal with and misleading. I began talking to Jeff @ the IL location on Monday, January 29th. about purchasing a '96 Mustang Cobra they had listed on Ebay for $14k. (This was a I began talking to Jeff @ the IL location on Monday, January 29th. about purchasing a '96 Mustang Cobra they had listed on Ebay for $14k. (This was after receiving and email from him asking if I was ever even interested in the car after I didn't return one of his voicemails over the weekend.) After a brief negotiation we agreed to a price of $12,500 and I let him know I could wire full payment on Friday, February 2nd after I moved some money around. He told me they were trying to close out their month and asked if I could overnight a check. I let them know I could, but they'd have to hold it till Friday. Which I did. Unfortunately they cashed the check immediately and it bounced. Charging me an NSF fee of $38 they said they'd take care of, which they never did. I honestly didn't and still don't care about the $38, my issue was that I was leaving on vacation in 2 weeks and wanted to have the car arrive beforehand. After the check bounced I was reassured by Jeff and Kenny that by 2/9 they would resubmit my check and once cleared release the car. February 9th rolls around and nothing. I call, both Jeff and Kenny blow me off the phone and I'm directed to Lisa, who was very helpful. After some digging, she finds the check was never resubmitted to the bank. I told her to cancel it and I'd wire the money same day, which I did. The car was then released and shipped to me. By February 26th I still hadn't received the title to the car and I was told the seller is out of the country until 2/28. On March 5th, Lisa emails me that the seller finally brought it in and she was next day shipping it. Which she did. When the title arrived, I saw that it was a duplicate and that it was just issued. My assumption is that the seller lost the original and instead of just telling me that I was told he was out of the country. Still though, they knew the car was selling on January 29th and I didn't get a title until March 6th. As the title of the review states, it was a difficult transaction and both Jeff and Kenny were misleading. Of course buying from out of state I'll never know if it was intentional or if they are just that disorganized. Fortunately I was able to have the vehicle registered, inspected, and titled on 3/9. The car is as advertised and clean. In the end, I paid a premium for the car and wish their customer service level reflected the price I paid. More

The videos and detail shown by the photos online were great tools in narrowing my vehicle search, and my overall choice to look at Gateway. When I arrived to look at the car, it was pulled out and ready to go. The team left me alone to inspect the car until I was satisfied, then we took a test drive. Upon conclusion of the test drive, I told Christopher that I need to sleep on it over the weekend, and he respected that decision and was not pushy at all. When it came time to purchase, it was a smooth back and forth discussion until we arrived at a price all parties could live with. They offered transportation options, and helped to get me in touch with providers. All in all, it was a smooth process, and allowed me time to make a decision that I was happy with; something that isn't always available in the heat of the moment at a collector car auction. More

Approximately 10 days later, the car was delivered to my home! The experience was seamless and very professional. The team was readily available for any questions that I had and walked me through the purchase process in great detail I plan to do business with this company in the future and have already begun to recommend the dealership to my acquaintances who have a similar interest in fine automobiles More

Very respons With of course the help of Gateway Classic Cars. Nic Thom is the salesperson who helped me along the process and he was absolutely great. Very responsive, always willing to answer any question and let tell ya, I had a lot of questions. :) These guys understand that these purchases are very emotional especially when you’ve been searching for years. If it’s not clear, I’m a fan and would hands down recommend this dealership (Chicago). More
Customer service is right up there with Comcast...stay away I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone to buy or sell, they post these great pictures and you get to the show room almost all the cars have cardb I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone to buy or sell, they post these great pictures and you get to the show room almost all the cars have cardboard under them with oil and other fluid leaks, you sell a car with them , expect them to pressure you to sell it for far less then value , expect them to lie and say the check was sent to the bank and the bank to let you know they were never certified mailed anything. Then after all this , they never reach out for anything , you have to continue to message them to find out what’s going on , then when they drag their feet....your “profit” is far less and they don’t even know where it’s at for you. “ oh it’s a St. Louis oversite” then you don’t hear Anything for another week until you push another email out. Then they say oh it’s your bank again. Completely just worthless customer service . If their other locations are like Chicago’s....:I’d expect them to be out of business in 5 years. Be warned , sell or buy from the seller. Can’t express enough how bad the service was More
